Update 1/9: Talked to my CA today, the car is at the Port of Delivery, but unfortunately didn't make it onto their weekly delivery to the dealer. Confirmed on the manifest it's scheduled for the next delivery on Monday 1/16, with a day to prep and inspect and scheduled for delivery at 10:30 am Tuesday 1/17. Confirmed with CA that front license plate bracket will NOT be installed per my instructions. I'm in the home stretch!

Update 1/5: My Garage now shows the vehicle as "In Transit" again, meaning it's on the ship and on it's way to Honolulu.

Update 1/3: Still no car. Called the Genius line and car is currently being inspected by the VPC. Estimated arrival to the dealership is 1/16, but agent said it will most likely be the following week.

Update 12/12: I finally called the BMW Genius line because I was up really late (damn those East Coast hours). Confirmed my car is currently on the Daedalus Leader and is expected to make port on the West Coast on 12/20. Looks like I may have to wait till the new year before taking delivery.

Update 11/28: Car is on the boat and on its way! Hopefully I'll be driving it in a few weeks!

Update 11/14: Car FINALLY flipped from "Awaiting Carrier Assignment" to "Dispatched from factory sometime in the last 48 hours. Hopefully this means I've only got a month or so to wait till it gets here!

Update 10/28: Holy crap, it went from Assembly in Progress yesterday (10/27), straight through to Awaiting Carrier Assignment in the past 15 hours! Maybe I'll get my car before December?!

2nd Update 10/28: Spoke with my salesperson today, since the car is awaiting transport, I asked if any features had been deleted during production and she said as far as she can tell, no.

Thought I'd start a thread specifically for my own X1, so maybe others can reference and compare. I originally had the opportunity to order on the first day, but held off because I was shopping around at cheaper options (VW Taos or GTI, Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V), but with all the dealers either having a 6+ month wait or ridiculous markup, it made more sense to just get another BMW. Ordering process was quick. Built a car on the website and gave them the custom code and asked for a price. Got the car for MSRP+fees and documentation from the get go, extremely no hassle. Was told to expect delivery around mid-December to mid-January. $1,000 down, got the price locked in with the condition that I could apply any promos that may be available at the time of delivery. Went to the dealer on 10/24, got an updated estimate that they have pretty good confidence I'll get my car before Christmas, but shipping is always the biggest hurdle to Hawaii. Anyway, here's my build and current timeline.

I called my dealer in mid-August and placed my order, but my production timeline is almost identical to yours - my car moved to Entering Assembly Line today. I wonder if the time difference was at my dealer or at the factory? Oh well....

Could be your dealer didn't have an allocation? Or maybe someone forgot to submit your order. I think my dealer gets a pretty good allocation since they're the only one in the state.

I was stuck in Quality Check for a month and now it has been a week in Waiting for Carrier Assignment. Pretty sure the ones we are starting to see in dealerships were built after mine. Just crazy.

I went to Quality Check on 9/20. No clue what the hold up is.

That's really frustrating! Have you tried calling the dealer to find out what the holdup is?

Man, that's frustrating for sure. If it was me I'd be going down to the dealership and asking them directly, and if still getting the run around I'd see if another dealer would like my business instead. Not sure how far away from the dealer you are though. For me it's only a 20 minute drive, in traffic.

That's a lot faster than my process... you basically had the thing ordered and built in just over a month. I'm jealous!

I've been stuck on quality check for the past two weeks. I'm told by the dealer if there was a quality issue identified that ordering replacement parts can slow the thing down.

I'm honestly surprised and a bit skeptical that mine was built so fast. Makes me feel like they'll find something at the VPC somehow and I won't be able to get the car right away, or I somehow got the wrong production number and am tracking someone else's car by mistake.

So are you at port yet and/or have a vessel assigned? Looking at the schedules I didn't see anything from Bremerhaven that stopped in Honolulu.

Am hoping to get on NYK Grand Duke which leaves Nov 9th and arrives in Port Hueneme Dec 3rd. Am still in Dispatched From Factory though.

FYI, Bremerhaven isn't that only port they're dispatched from. Mine left the Zeebrugge port in Belgium aboard the Immacolata. I thought it'd have been shipped from Bremerhaven too, but nope.

Interesting. Good to know. Back to looking at schedules.

My current Countryman shipped from Zeebrugge which made some sense as it was assembled in Born NL along with some F48 X1s. U11’s are all Regensburg so far. Hope mine is through Bremerhaven as that 1 stop ship saved a lot of time vs the milk runs that wallenius wilhelmsen does.

Nah, it's probably just sitting in the queue. I popped in to the dealer today in between jobs and checked on the status of the car to see if maybe just the website was wonky. It's currently status 182, just waiting to get assigned to a vessel. The dealer got in a Mineral White X1 with Premium/M Sport packages last week at the port, but they're not picking it up till tomorrow or the next day. Once it comes in and they've done the PDI, I plan to check it out just to get a feel for what I'll be driving soon. The salesman I talked to today couldn't' tell me if it was already sold, or if it's a demo car (he seemed new, my regular salesperson doesn't work on weekends).
