Not many have heard of Adro, but they are a newer company producing quality carbon fiber aero products for numerous platforms and slowly growing their catalog as with new models. We've been quietly working with them since last year with their F8X M3/M4 and Tesla programs and now Adro is focused on bringing their hand to the G8X market.

During the development process, parts are 3D scanned before designing to ensure a perfect fit with more traditional methods like plasticine clay to achieve a final design before molds are made. CFD analysis are also performed to visualize any aerodynamics and efficiency on designs. For example, their Tesla Model Y Aero kit showed a 4.4% reduction in total vehicle drag.

Hands down, Adro is among the best looking and fitting kits we've seen to date, easily rivaling some well-established brands that have been on the market for years. Everything is included, from instructions, prep pads and mounting hardware and each part is meticulously packaged before shipping.

Enclosed are quick teaser photos introducing the BMW G8X M3/M4 Premium Carbon Fiber Program from ADRO. Vehicles, pricing and photos will be fully released at SEMA in a few weeks.

ADRO G8X G8X M3/M4 Competition Carbon Fiber Aero Program will consist of the following items:

Thermalplastic Polyolefin Material (TPO) Front Bumper with optional lower Carbon Fiber front spoiler.
Carbon fiber Prepreg Side Skirts
Carbon fiber Prepreg Rear Diffuser
Carbon Fiber Prepreg Rear Track Spoiler

Meet the Adro team
Aerodynamic Development Race Optimization (ADRO) manufactures high quality aerodynamic body kits.

Passion for racing brought co-founders Dongwan Yoo, CEO, and Sean Yoon, CTO, together in 2010. They met through a mutual acquaintance and quickly bonded over the aesthetics and performance of race cars. Fast forward several years later, they began creating custom body kits for KDMs as a hobby. As business picked up, they co-founded ADRO in 2020 and began expanding their product offerings.

ADRO products are designed in California, engineered and manufactured in South Korea.

Chief Executive Officer: Dongwan Yoo
With over 15 years of FRP and carbon tuning experience, Dongwan leads ADRO with his passion for automotive aesthetics and carbon fiber manufacturing. He was also in charge of producing the carbon fiber body kit for the Hyundai RM 15 concept, which debuted with much fanfare at the Frankfurt Motor Show. He brings his relentless pursuit of top-grade materials, eye for design, and passion for body kits to create the highest quality aftermarket parts.

Chief Technology Officer: Sean Yoon
With a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from KAIST University and a Masters in Race Car Aerodynamics from Southampton University, Sean Yoon leads the Aerodynamics Division at ADRO. Sean, who was on track to join the Ferrari F1 race team as their aerodynamicists before the Lehman Brothers’ collapse, became a serial entrepreneur, working with LG Electronics, a global innovator in technology and consumer electronics; Enswers, a pioneer of Automatic Content Recognition technology; Noom, a health and wellness subscription-based app; and most recently O2Palm, a project management software. Coming full circle, he’s once more chasing his dream of working with cars by leading ADRO’s engineering team.

Chief Design Officer: Davis Lee
Famous for his Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 concept car design and his work with the CLS, S-Class, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and more, Davis joined ADRO as Chief Design Officer in January 2022. With 10 years of OEM design experience, he is looking to shake up the aftermarket industry with stylish designs that flow cohesively with vehicle’s original design DNA.

Head of Aerodynamics: Scott Beeton
Scott has been involved in motorsport for over 15 years with a primary focus on aerodynamics and improving vehicle performance. After graduating with distinction from legendary aerodynamicist Adrian Newey’s alma mater Southampton University, he immediately started as an Aerodynamicist at the Williams Formula One team where he was primarily responsible for the front wing development of the 2009/2010 cars and was involved in CFD methodology. Since then he’s been involved with World Time Attack Challenge, the largest time attack event in the world, both helping to craft the regulations and as a vehicle designer. Scott has also offered training and consulting services specializing in race car design and aerodynamic development through his company AeroDesign Pty Ltd for more than 10 years.

More info coming soon, enjoy.

I look forward to seeing the end product as it looks promising.

However, a fair few of us have fallen in love with the front end of the G8X. If the price of admission for this subjectively better looking front end is too much, then I don't see many G8X owners parting ways with their Vorsteiner/CSL/stock grille.

Interesting. We've had the opposite effect with getting opinions from local customers we've shared photos with saying Adro's design would be pushing them towards the G8X chassis, rather than away. We'll see once full photos are shown after SEMA.

Not bad. Not much of a fan of extending the grills/nose out more. Plus I'm sure this will be ~$7k

All I see…

I'm not even sure that's the right fish but I'm sure someone knows what I mean.

I'll stick with stock, thanks…

I've grown to like the g8x front end, minus my honeycomb air ducts, which will be changing at some point for some carbon pieces.

I do actually like this front bumper, but much like the Evolve front bumper, too expensive and they wont sell many units. I have no doubt the development for these products isn't cheap, but there is a point where too high of a cost just isnt worth it.

I am intrigued to see the final products. Cool to smaller companies breaking into the market for the G8x platform.

Looks pretty sweet from the teaser pics, and I'm excited for the full reveal. Would something like the new front bumper interfere with any of the factory systems? I'm specifically thinking of things like the 3D camera view, sensors, etc

So true. This will be unreasonably expensive. Those guessing 7k are being optimistic IMHO. I’ve seen this small run, full CF bumper story before. I’m guessing 10k+.

They would be much better off making this out of polyurethane with removable CF accents (I’m not replacing the whole bumper if I scrape the lip, that’s insanity) and getting this to a reasonable (~3k) price point. They would make much more money overall that way.

$3k plus paint seems relatively reasonable for sure. I think with a $7k-$10k front bumper, I'd be too afraid to drive it, especially on my shitty NY roads, little alone track days (yes I'm sure no one in their right mind would track a car with that much money in body work, unless its a gt3 car or someone with much deeper pockets than myself).

I think Evolve's bumper is around the $10k usd mark if I remember correctly. My guess would agree with yours that this will hold a similar price tag. Hell, there are companies charging $7k+ for a carbon hood with much less intricacies than this bumper.

Good job on the design. I really like the inspiration from the F87 fangs. This is the best aftermarket idea I think we have seen.
Imho the oem g80 and g82 looks great as well.

I imagine that front end is closer to what the new 3.0 CSL "supercar" is going to look like based on spy photos and the camouflage.

I think it's an improvement.

I wanna know what happened to this design though. Cause that's what really fixes the g80 for me.
