What, if anything, do you dislike or wish you could change?

Not meant to be a gripe session but...

Disappointed in the wheel options for xLine which I'd imagine will represent the majority of sales. I like the 19" M Double-spoke over the Y's, but don't think I want the M Sport package. 20's are nice, but will ride harsher than 19".

Wished there were at least some basic HVAC controls.

Wished rear seats slid like the EU model.

Wished more options were available when selecting sport seats. Would love to have alcantara.

Not a huge fan of the black/chrome turned up corner accents in both the front and rear bumpers on xLine. It's growing on me, but it looks more utilitarian than luxury IMO.

These wheels on the other hand (50 sec. mark) are sweet and work with the silver front fangs! I'm sure they would be super harsh.

I wish the 20" wheel design was the 19" size.

Without having driven the car yet, I would want to see:
- an iDrive controller knob
- still having the "shortcut" buttons on the dash, especially with so many other buttons now gone
- heated steering wheel button remaining on the wheel itself

I'm sure I'll get used to all this.

I definitely would have liked to have adaptive cruise control. And the Euro diamond stitched leather seats are really nice; it's a shame they aren't avail in the US

Word.

I would have thought ventilated seats would be available. I have them on my 2019 Chevy Equinox for crying out loud.

I do anticipate very quickly getting used to telling my BMW assistant to turn on my heated seats and steering wheel, among many other things.

I would NOT expect this. You can't get vented seats on the 3-Series, so I didn't think you would be able to get them on the X1.

BMW doesn't care what mainstream brands offer; they care what direct competitors offer. XC40; GLA; Q3 don't offer vented seats.

So maybe they should offer more.

And those points are why I'm keeping a close eye on the Mazda CX-70.

I'd trade you my double-spokes for some Y's if I could. I prefer the Y's, personally.

lack of iDrive controller is my biggest dislike. I don't understand how using a touch screen is less distracting than using what's essentially a mouse.

I also don't like BMW's stance on limited ventilated seats options. Even when it's available, they limit which leather option it's available on.

Well now we'll see if you still have them if and when I buy😄
I've never had ventilated seats so no biggie for me. Just something else to go wrong.

I think the things that are missing for me will be offered on the M35

Visible Exhaust
MSport Brakes
Quicker Acceleration

But I remind myself this isn't my car and my wife doesn't care if the car is the fastest and has cool brakes. She just wanted a wireless phone charger and bluetooth and seats that she doesn't stick to in hot weather.

They are definitely holding back for the M35 for sure.

Ventilated seats are nice to have but it’s not a deal breaker for me. I rather have a car that handles and feels better than any of the mainstream options that have better options. Only other brand I would consider in this segment is the Alfa Stelvio. Now those are fun to drive. The newer Alfa’s remind me how BMWs used to be that fun and good to drive.

Only complaint I really have about the X1 is no option for ACC but that is coming and hopefully I can purchase it as an added software upgrade. I don’t mind the lack of buttons or no idrive controller. I played around with the new idrive 8 when I test drove an i4 M50 and it was fine.

We have vented seats in our Audi Q7 and while they are nice, they are not a requirement. Same with heated rear seats. I don't want my kids to be too comfortable or they would never leave the car and right now they are both in boosters, so it's not really that important.

I really liked that the X3 offers the MSport brakes in the base model. We were told that was something that was blocked in the 2022 model year due to part supply constraints but would have been available if we placed a 2023 order. They just look nicer than the raw calipers.

1. I wish heated heat/steering were standard equipment like in some competitors.
2. NOT have popular options stacked on top of other packages.
3. Not sure how I feel about standard 18 inch wheel looks.
