Anyone already thinking about mods?

I know it's way early, but I wanted to start a thread to gauge interest with owners who may consider modifications once available. Current information on improvements to the new engine variant and DCT address issues associated with direct injection and general dual-clutch transmission driving behavior. For me, I'll be watching the mechanical side for actual mitigation of intake valve carbon build up. Word is this engine will have dual injection like the B58. I might still consider a catch can on the PVC side. DCT tuning would be something I may consider after a lot of seat time with the factory programming. I know an M35i variant is being rumored for more power, but it would most likely be out of my budget so I would only consider performance tuning after my warranty expired. Discuss.

I'm one of those people that can't leave things alone, so definitely looking to mod this vehicle in some way once I get it. I'm leasing though, so mechanically I'll be pretty limited on what I'll be willing to do. Currently the only things I have planned for it is tint on all glass surfaces, wheels (eventually, as aftermarket wheel prices have gotten quite ridiculous for the brands I'm looking at), and possible some carbon bits when they become available. I'd also like to wrap the interior trim and the roof panel at some point. Definitely would like to do some coding when possible, as I already have a Carly and Bimmercode subscription. A mild tune would be nice, but I have a feeling it will be a while before we see one, and I'm definitely not running a piggyback. Catchcan would be great as long as it can be returned to stock without too much effort should I decide to turn the car in at lease end. And if it's not too prohibitive, probably euro tail lights as I hate American red turn signals.

I would be interested in an actual Dinan flash tune and exhaust if they ever make it for the 28i engine

Has there been issues with the previous gen B48 or B58 that a catch can would fix?

I read somewhere someone with a B58TU1 with a catch can that after some decent # of miles (forget the exact # but it was like 30k or something), the can was completely dry/empty.

I think it depends on which side of the system it's on. At least on my Elantra Sport 1.6T GDi, the pcv side produces the gunk vs. breather side. In the winter I've dumped as much as 5 oz. in 4k miles and in the summer about 2oz.
