Bought my first BMW--2023 Fire Orange M3 50 Jahre Edition

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi! New to the forum, new to M3, new to BMW. Recently brought home the beauty pictured, purchased from Weatherford BMW in the Bay Area CA. It's patiently waiting on a trickle charger for my PPF/tint appointment. It had 14 miles on it in the showroom, and still has 14 miles in my garage! CAN NOT WAIT to start driving it.

This car replaced my wife's previous Mythos Black 2019 Audi A5 Sportback. Somehow, I'm still in a bit of the doghouse for this upgrade! Luckily, we are both blessed with company cars so it will only be driven occasionally and while on vacation.

I have already ordered a few tasteful M Performance upgrades--Mainly the floormats, CF mirror caps, and CF side badges. Also plan on a stud conversion and possibly proper spacers. I plan on adding the rear M Perf CF diffuser at some point but DANG I am still in a bit of shock from the "BMW tax" on OEM parts. Puts the "Corvette tax" to shame that I'm very familiar with.

looks great. I bet that's the rarest Jahre color! Those rear 3/4 shots make the fenders look almost DTM car sexy. My C6 vette might not have the best hips in the garage anymore once the 50j gets here

Thanks!

I'm curious about color production numbers as well. Personally, I have seen the least TV and Cinnabar colors pop up for sale at this point....FWIW when I was working on a deal for this one, the dealer ran some sort of search for all Fire Orange Jahre cars on lots, in transport, and currently on the production line in Germany.......26. No idea what that means or if its true. I would have assumed they would make 100 in each color.

Congrats!

And yes, the M tax is a hefty one.

That's quite a splash for your first ever BMW! Congratulations! I got hooked with my 1969 BMW 2002 and the journey continues many years and many models later.

Nice for your first BMW! Jump into the deep end.

The more you drive it, the more you will drive it.

It will be addicting.

Wild assumption there, definitely not. My first "inquiry" call to the dealer started at "50 thousand over" lol. That call quickly ended. Sales guy called me back 5 mins later and came back to reality. Couple few days of tough negotiations and settled on a fair price less than $10k over. It was still painful, but the car is in my garage and I don't have to wait months for an allocation, plus I dig the orange

My local dealer "says" they took a deposit at $30k over on another orange one that I don't believe came in yet. I was trying to reserve that one but they wouldn't get off their greedy horse and take care of a repeat customer. I'm not sure I believe them. I think they just didn't want to sell it to a buyer unwilling to pay an unreasonable adm. All of the dealers I spoke with regarding ordering one were at MSRP, but not likely to receive a car until Q2 next year at the earliest......at least that's what I was consistently told.
