2023 X1 Lease

Hi All

Just got the lease info from a dealer in the Bay Area, California. Do you think the lease is expensive?

I think they are charging you a bunch of BS fees that Jon Shafer at BMW of Santa Maria would not. (Am I allowed to say the name of the other site?)

In order to make the lease less than $600 / month. The down payment is $10000! Why they charge tint glass for $499? That should be included base on my built summary.

When I leased my 2016 M235i, my due at sign was $4000. Lease was around $700/mo with 10000 miles limited.

Maybe I should move on to a different dealer...

That seems really high to me. so for 36 month, $5k down, it's $725/month which works out to $725 * 36 = $26,100 + $5000 = $31,100 on a $45,495 MSRP?
So you're paying nearly 70% of the price of the new car over a 3 year period with only 7500 miles a year? Probably better off buying it at those lease prices.

My local dealer is advertising X3's for only $609/month with a $5k down. with MSRP of $52k.
(36 months, 7500 miles a year).

I wish some one would lease it from me with these prices and give me the car after I got back more than $30000 later with 22.5k miles on it.

Got another quote from a different dealer. Drive off: $4500. $648+tax per month based on 7500 mile per year. Buyback is $28-29k.

Stop calculating your lease based on monthly payment and drive off amount. Get the selling price of the car, plus any fees and tax, and the money factor. Those are the only numbers you need to find out if it's a good deal.

I didn’t seriously consider a lease but the high level numbers I got were
MSRP. 46045
36 months
7500 miles
Down: $5k
Monthly: $686.22 including tax

Just buy it. My payments are quite less with a 72 month loan and 21k down. If you don't like the X1, just trade it in for about a few thousand less than what you bought it for and get something else.

This is bad deal. I just had a deal in socal. No tire fill bs, no tint bs, 1k discount. You need to ask OTD out of door price and money factor. That is the only way to know if it is good deals.

I would not buy from any dealer who have nitrogen tire, in normal air nitrogen is 90%. That is pure BS.

This is such bad quote. Where is sales tax?

Please go to joinyaa website, and watch free dealer school 2.0 for 30min to educate about car buying

There is a plethora of information on youtube about how leases work and how to shop for best lease values. If you feel like spending a few hours is worth your while to save a few grands then please do it.

I just got a bmw lease x1 2023 28i here in the states (California). I ended with 3k cash down due signing was 5k due signing. Monthly payment $575 after taxes 44k msrp and residual value is $25400 money factor was 0.00233 10k miles 36 months. Mine wasn't a good deal but it was somewhat fair. market is pretty bad.

Leasing made sense pre covid when cars were oversupplied but post Covid and with inflation and higher bank rates it is throwing money away

I worked out that pre Covid on my prior X3 I was maybe losing £5k over the contact by leasing and handing car back against buying and selling over a 4 year 8000 mile a year contract.

Now on my X1 I worked out with massively increased monthly rental which is near £600 a month compared to £400 pre Covid it’s more like £15000 more expensive to lease as residual values are now much higher.

Add in the issues I had with my last lease being charged for damage that didn’t exist and then the company debating my £0 early termination contract (both of which were settled for £0 after writing a very strong legal response) means I would never lease again.

Leasing is better for me since I can write the entire car off on my taxes since it’s a work vehicle, vs buying I can only deduct mileage.

Nitrogen is a con

If you have 90% Nitrogen in air you will die. Its 78% but your point is well made. Tires are pretty ridged so have normal air in them then they add the magical Nitrogen (Prevents corrosion + Fractionally lighter) so you still have some oxygen in there (The dust on your rims will be more than the weight difference). If you still want to spend $200 on it, would you also like to buy a bridge?
