the B&O was orgasmic. the Sport diff actually sends the rear end sideways even when you drive and corner normally (was following behind with wife driving it) |

That's why the nose is so big. It's BMWs first SMV, or social media vehicle. As it drives by it sucks up little hearts.

Here's the way a look at this depressing bullshit. 95 % of drivers out there just want to get from point A to B. Yea they wash their cars and want to look cool and hip in them but they don't REALLY care about cars like we do or what energy source pushes their cars around, as long long as they roll. Let them have their EVs and leave us 5 percenters the fuk alone to enjoy our ICE engines. I believe Performance auto companies like BMW are going to continue to develop ICE engines to get incredible MPG along with the combustion HP we crave. Perhaps they may be hybrids and that's OK with me. Don't give up just yet. Fight these climate zealots pushing EVs down our throats. |

As with many myths surrounding EVs, our power grid system are able to handle EV's just fine this has been debunked so many times, It simple as not everyone charges nor ever will at the same time and not everyone will plug in at the same time please stop spreading this myth, it ain't correct. Just as our plumping systems are able to handle our stuff because not everyone flushes their toilets at the same time we won't see overflown sewages systems. So please stop that myth already. As long as ICE engines produces emissions from the tailpipe then no there is no future for them if there was a way to have zero emissions from ICE engines we would have reached that now, but we haven't the development of ICE cars is simple as they can't be or are not worth to develop for the last % of mpg or emissions. The cost/benefit is not worth it so EVs it is. Nor will there in our near future be a time where there is no ICE cars, So don't worry about that the ICE cars will be around for probably yours and mine lifetime. But they won't be developed any more or sold new thats a total different thing. Not everyone who drives an EV is a climate zealot alright so don't talk stupid because thats what comments like that is. I live in a town where Northvolt has there main development centre and have met the people that work there around town and in bars, and the next coming 25 years we will see newer lighter materials in battery's that will also double the range every 3-5 year so we are talking about cars with at least 900-1500 km in one charge in our lifetime with charging in less then 10 minutes. So yeah we are seeing progress and thank goodness for that. Stagnation is dangerous and should be avoided at all cost.

Trading in my 2018 S4 Prestige with the B&O for a '23 M3CX and have been reading everywhere that the HK system sucks so I'm glad to hear you think it's an upgrade!

My comment was not directed to dealer inventory shortage in the past years. With the next generation rumored to have a hybrid powertrain and G80/2 being one of the very few vehicles having manuals in a performance sedan, this platform has attracted plenty of new buyers and this has been recorded in the poll which i shared earlier. |

The "free" market of selling a product hasn't rebounded since COVID hit. Not trying to age myself- but in 2009 I was able to wrangle around 15 percent off a 911 I bought off the lot during the financial crisis. Could m3's be lined up in 2023-2024 if we hit a depression. Nope- car makers are ahead of this thing… |

I'll hit 18 months with my car at the end of next week. It's already hard to remember how loud the "do not do this" voice was in my head during the 3 days between signing the papers and picking up the car once the sales embargo was lifted. I'm so thankful I didn't listen to that voice as I've never had this satisfying of an ownership experience in 35 years of owning cars.
Owning ANY F8x car involved ignoring the comments (in reviews and elsewhere) about how much BMW had lost the "M way" with the EPS and the turbos. Even now, pretty much every "best to worst M3" list either puts the F8x or the US-spec E36 at the bottom of the heap. Mostly I think that's crap. It's not like the F8x BMW's existed in a vacuum. The AMG63's and the RS Audis were on EPS, too. NA engines were pretty much entirely gone for direct competitors to the F8x cars. A good best-to-worst list should be about how each model compared to its contemporary competition. How good was the E30 vs the Merc W201 equivalent? How good was the E90 M3 vs. the C55 AMG of the time. Etc... And those reviews never take into account safety, efficiency, or emissions. Which car would you rather be driving when an SUV runs a light and nails you? An E30 or an F8x? There's a good chance you'll never have an opinion again if you're in the E30. Alone on a track writing a review those things don't matter. Commuting or going shopping they certainly do. Do you remember the LA sky in the 80s? I do and none of us should want that to happen again. The number of ways a G8x or F8x is better than and E30 is vast, and those reasons never count in those stupid lists. It's going to be hard to truly rate how successful the G8x is until we all get to see the new C63 with it's itty bitty engine and batteries and whatever Audi updates the current, out-of-date, RS4 and 5 to. As for sales, we don't really have numbers. The new owners vs. repeat M owners poll wasn't scientific (but it is amusing). If it happens to be a lucky poll and it's accurate, it ISN'T a bad thing if this car is drawing in new-to-the-brand owners. Only drawing in people who had previously bought M's would be a diminishing audience. Anyway, I understand why the F8x crowd could feel like the snout is a reason to take out years of having to defend their car choice on someone else. There were things that weren't good about my M2C that I defended and then I realized later that I wasn't doing so from a place of actual honesty. We all do it sometimes when we've spent a ton of money on a thingy. Lets all just enjoy our cars and stopping hitting each other over the head. |

Maybe they'll split the headlights to continue their journey to looking like Hyundai. And maybe they'll turn the whole front dash into a long touchscreen to save money--I mean to modernize it.
