Mirror caps removal

I got the mirror caps from AE, but I'm not sure how to remove the existing ones. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos, which all say I should pry the glass out. I used as much force as I thought was reasonable to pry it out with a pry tool but it would not come out. Is there something I'm missing here, or I'm not applying enough force? Basically moved the mirror up and towards the car then put a pry tool at the bottom and try to lift it... any tips would be appreciated!!

You don't need to pry the glass out, trim removal tool along the top, pop the first clip, then go to the lower section at the front of mirror) and finally the pointed tip has a clip too

Be mindful I picked up some ae mirrors and they didn't fit, if you post a picture of them I'll be able to tell if they will fit (the pointed tip section was incorrect)

Yup the ones that fit the 230i will not fit the m240i

Well I just managed to open the mirror to find out it doesn't fit womp womp.. ugh. Luckily it's only $27 lost. So nothing that will work from aliexpress? The other option is from Monaco for $289...

any g80 mirror caps fit the g42

He is correct ^ G80 M3 caps fit,however. On AliExpress 90% of the caps listed for G80 are actually G20 caps which look identical from the outside. You MUST get or see pictures of the inside of the caps to make sure the tip is open and not closed

I can share my vendor once I install them,but I don’t want other people buying them before I test them myself. That’s why I haven’t posted it yet.
