Extended warranties….CPO, etc….

Our X7 has 25k miles on it and we will be keeping it awhile. I am starting to look into extended warranties, etc.

I can't get my current car CPO'ed correct? I assume this only can be done on cars being sold?

Assuming so, do you guys normally recommend BMW or aftermarket warranties? Do BMW's extended warranties only cover mechanical stuff or will it fix stuff like a window motor stopping working, nav screen, etc?

I've also heard some insurance companies offer similar type stuff. Any experiences with those? I assume those types are probably only for mechanical breakdown?
