Australian launch of the new X1: subscription seats
Looks like they're launching the X1 in Australia with the heated seats and steering wheel subscription offer.

These are a bit of a no story.
The concept is that you can try using the heated seats and wheel if you didn't buy them from the beginning for just a month. Decide you like them and then you can buy them in full. You can also buy them in full before you trial buy them. That was in intention, it just got escalated into something it wasn't, not great on BMW or the journalists and it all got clarified the following day. |

My order sheet says slightly different. The heated seats are standard, but, the order sheet says ‘preparation for heated steering wheel’. So my understanding is that it is just the heated steering wheel which is subscription down here.

The specification guide that was shared with me (dated July 2022) has the following:
• Preparation for seat heating, front row – functionality available via subscription • Preparation for heated steering wheel – functionality available via subscription |

Yes you are correct. My mistake. I think because I ordered the 20i it has the heated seats as standard and it only shows the steering wheel heating as being subscription.
