Yeah I've ordered a rear badge for the CSL in non-50th anniversary trim. It's on back order, but it's larger than the standard trunk.

I hate the way the 50th anniversary logos look and will replace them with traditional Roundels asap.

Hey scully curious as to what color you went with. I just got bumped up the list and placed my order yesterday after the number one guy bailed. I ordered black with the red accents

I'm FBG with red stripes. My build week got pushed from July to Sept, now I'm seeing if I can take the red stripes off. I think it's unlikely that I can.

Interested to know if the rear muffler of the CSL sounds different from the competition muffler!

Or its just lightweighted ?

Yeah, but i'm not posting on a CSL owners thread until i have keys in my hand. Don't want to jinx it especially since my build date has already been pushed back.

Rear left and right driveshafts are said to be shared between G80/G82 CS and G82 CSL models, and installed on regular models that see heavy track use due to high temps coming from the differential.

Front knuckles 'RWD MINUS' mean that they add more negative camber. I do not know how much, but the 'correction' knuckles available as spare parts on the F8x added -0.5 degree, AFAIK.

They're all vinyl decals and can be removed by the dealer or yourself at home Upon delivery.

You have official 100% confirmation of that or you are just deducing that from the PR photos?

Also removing them from the frozen painted hood is not something i'm totally comfortable won't damage the paint if it can be avoided.

Keep the red. IMO it is what really helps set this apart as a CSL and looks great with the FBG.

Agree with this. FBG with red stripes is the signature G82 CSL look in my opinion. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I think based on the recent video on youtube of the CSL part 2, and the photoshoot at Le Mans of the car without red stripes, i think that was the way it was originally intended. It looks understated like the e46 (as understated as the G series can be). It also really shows off the exposed carbon on the hood. The M specialists in that video even say "this is the final production car" and it doesn't have the red stickers on it.

I believe the marketing department came at the last minute and said "we need more" and put red stickers on the car.

Great thread. I guess we're still not seeing BMW DDCs on the CSL, like I would have hoped for.

It is also possible they are having a perceived quality issue with the paint line between the exposed CF and the body color, and the stripe is their way to hide any potential issues that are showing up in production.

They also have a connection to the GT3 car’s red grill accents. On a BSM car they are a must IMO to highlight the exposed CF on the hood.

If by DDC you meant EDC, it's got adaptive dampers.

If I recall from the brief time the CSL was in the German configurator, CSL decal delete was an option on all colours.

Laser lights with Yellow DRLs were an option, too. Base lights were the Extended LEDs with the sleepy eyes.
