2 Series GTS OLED Taillights
Bimmer Plug says they now have GTS OLED taillights for 2 series. I don't believe them. I have an order for other stuff with them that just passed 5 weeks for something in stock. Anyone know how to order directly from manufacture?

They look ok.. Until someone probably crashes into the back of your car because they didn't recognize your insufficient taillights..
When it comes to safety items, I stick with OEM products. Auto manufacturers have a lot more to lose than some warehouse around the globe that probably utilize child labor to make their products. . |

It was attractive and extremely visible from afar. It even has the rear fog lights built in. These "FOLED" (they are not OLED) offering creates a lot of visibility/safety issues on the F82, I can't imagine the quality assurance is any better on the F87. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=28653029 https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=28250694 https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=27909765 |

Just an FYI, please don't order these from Bimmerplug. They are charging $1000 for tails that are $560 on AliExpress.
I have a set on order and am excited to get them. I highly doubt there will be any issues with people 'being able to see your brake lights' lol. They have a 1-year warranty, for 500 bucks it's worth the gamble for me. Quote:

knowing this isn't a factory option on the M2 would feel weird if I had these installed on my M2. I wouldn't get them unless I had an F80 to be honest

However, I don't know why I can't get it out my head that they remind me of the CFL-style taillights from the "E" generation BMWs.. 😗 . |

I do understand your point about how much brighter the LCI's truly are vs pre LCI

I have a personal rule, I don't change light housings unless it's an OEM option. I did the LCI conversion on my old F80 and I was hesitant even then because of some of the wiring needed to make them work correctly. In my younger days I would be the first guy to "upgrade" to overseas housings, only to have constant quality issues with most of them.
Plus this GTS phase is getting run into the ground and quick! |
