Great video. G82 is way down on power, by 260hp and it really holds it own. Not sure the GT500 comes stock with Sport Cups, but that's what's on the GT500. Big advantage. As we know, the BMW Star PS4s are almost as good as sport cups.

They make Star marked Cup 2s for this car, since there are packages, overseas that come with cup 2s on a G8X from the factory.

If you add the track pack, it adds the Cup 2 but that's an 18K option. Standard comes with PS4S

After I posted, I went to go look. Didn't pay much attention to this car. Not sure if it has the Track Pack, though. I remember in their previous videos that the car didn't hook up at all. Which lead me to believe they added the tires, to help with that.

Great concept. Either put the M4 xDrive on PSC2 or downgrade the GT500 tires to PS4S and the M4 matches the Mustang, if not outright beats it. That’s a fabulous result for a car with so much less power.

I wonder how a 750hp M4 xDrive would do.

Right? They're numbers are always MSRP alone vs the options-inflated press cars that BMW sends out. Even before the pandemic shot prices through the roof, GT500's were selling way higher than MSRP.

These results are fun but far from anything relevant unless your buying the car to take to the drag strip only.

On public road GT500 on less than perfect tarmac will more likely than not end in the ditch like we see over and over on you tube.

Gt500 wins from 100 to 150 mile pull because traction is not an issue it's pure horse power win. Those are loose your license and jail time speeds.

I keep seeing these videos comparing a road GT car M3/4 X Drive to track or to Drag strip cars and it's either winning or making a good showing against those dedicated purpose cars

1st driver overbraked for the turn. 2nd run was more indicative. Cup2s might help close the gap but at the end of the day 200+ hp is tough to argue against
