Anyone used one of these before?
We have such hard water in Austin that I was thinking about picking up one of these for when I wash my car, but was curious if anyone here has tried this before and if so, how well does it work?

I haven't but not long ago go turned onto Obsessed Garage. You can check out their website, YouTube, and FB group. I'm sure they've reviews it or similar and give thoughts/comparisons and recommendations.

I would like to have a whole house water filter, but my house sits on a slab and based on where the water valve is located, a straight run towards the house would have the water line entering the house in the dining room. No where to install a whole house filter. :

Yes I use something very similar:
https://crspotless.com/product/simple-chuck/ It works amazingly well. We have really hard water (from a well). Before using CR I would get water spots like crazy, even when I dry the car immediately. Now when I’m in a rush, I don’t even bother drying…and there are zero water spots. I just make sure it doesn’t dry directly in the sun. I would strongly recommend using it unless you have perfect soft water. |

Been thinking about it for a few years, but haven't done it yet. House wasn't plumbed with the loop so would have to be a retrofit. 99% sure I know where the main line comes into the house, but to verify requires taking down drywall. 😕

keep in mind softened water is not DI water. Depending on your softener it will still leave water spots due to the chemical reaction with your paint. It's not necessarily hard water at that point. So i have a whole home softener and i have the CR Spotless system. Works beautifully. Also is great for cleaning my solar panels on my roof periodically.
Also DO NOT run hot water over 90 degrees through the CR Spotless. it will degrade the membrane.

Will running already softened water (ak filtered with resin) through one of those lengthen it's life? IE more than 300 gallons?

If your water is hard that won't last long at all.
You need to have soft water at your home.

Yes it will last longer than hard water. You'll know when it stops working.

I have the No Spots Pro and love it. I've heard of others that have had the CR Spotless and have switched to the No Spots Pro.
https://www.amazon.com/No-Spots-Pro-...a-898091607481 My tap water TDS is around 260-275 and the NS Pro takes it to 0!!! |

I have been using CR SPotless DIC-20 for several years now. I get about 8 hours of use before I change out the two cartridges ($119 replacement). I connect the garden hose to the CR Spotless and then to my trusty Harbor Freight electric pressure washer. Wash the vehicles and let them dry in the sun and no water spots.
