PSA: New Owners of Vehicles with OE Pirelli Tires

I learned this the hard way after one of my tires developed a sidewall bubble in just 400 miles. Something which Pirelli Runflats are infamous for. The cost to replace it would have been $356 - until I looked at the Pirelli warranty documentation more carefully. It took some work with the service manager at my dealership, but they finally agreed to honor it.

The Pirelli RunFlat Tires equipped on new BMW vehicles (Cinturato P7, P Zero) are covered for 1 year against road hazard damage. I hope this will help others in the future. You can find the full text at the following URL: https://www.pirelli.com/tires/en-us/.../tire-warranty

The image below is a summarized version of the terms and conditions.

I assume you have the Pirelli P Zero Run Flat (PZ4)? What is your general quick thoughts on these tires. I pick my car up Monday and not sure what will be on them. Probably these.

My car had the All Season RFT package. 225/40/19 Cinturato P7 - absolute trash, but I had no choice since this was someone else's order. I should have new tires soon.

P Zero should be decent, but not as good as Michelin Pilot Sport.

Thanks for the information. Especially helpful is the road hazard coverage. I have the performance run flats coming; probably the P Zero I suppose. I agree they do have a decent rating, but not as good as the Mich PS. I have hated Pirelli in the past; hope they are better now.

They could also be Goodyear F1 Eagle Asymmetric. I haven't seen them on M240i yet, but they're very common on M340i.
