Just found it actually. The C8 was equipped with the Z51 performance pack... essentially means Pilot Sport 4S ZP tires, tweaked suspension & aero, larger brakes, and greater cooling capacity.

Yeah Cup 2s can make a noticeable difference. Impressive time still. I put Cup 2s on my daily driven car once, won't do it again.

Very impressive. Also how much of this time is driver skill vs car. Is it possible to put in a faster time with a better driver.. how much delta would there be?

That was a time set by a race driver during factory development.

As has been discussed (on almost every thread on Nürburgring lap times) there are several variables on lap times to consider:

- Car spec is unknown during factory testing
- Factory drivers often have multiple laps to prepare and doesn't have to be as cautionary as Sport Auto do (costly and embarrassing to crash a press car)
- Track layout (i.e. full lap, Sport Auto lap, BTG, or official lap for lap records)

History shows that Sport Auto laps almost without exception are a few seconds slower than factory lap times.

One recent example:

AMG GT Black Series

Official lap record set by AMG - 6.43,61
Lap time set by Sport Auto - 6.52,54
