Saw this earlier today, great review imo!
I feel like the only "downside" is the ZF auto. I feel like I'll both miss the DCT, but be happy with the smoother auto (with the pros of the auto outweighing the DCT)

Good review. He's been consistently reviewing BMWs and he's really been going a lot with them, since the LCI M5 Comp. He was also all over the G8X series when it came out. He's done videos at M-Town and this is actually one of the most detailed video I've seen, explaining exactly how the xDrive is setup.

There are currently some testvehicles driving on the Nordschleife with what seems to be a new ZF8 tune. Sounds more aggressive and almost like a PDK on upshifts. Really like the direction they are going. There's to hope this version will be rolled out to all G8x cars. I noticed it on the M4 CSL and the latest M2 G87 testcars.

I thought so too going from the F80 DCT to the F90 auto, but it's been nothing but smiles for miles. If you really miss it, I'd argue you need a manual, not a DCT, but ymmv. I think you'll love it though.

what does "remove before race" even mean? aside from being a catchy channel name?
watched the video with sound off and subtitles on. killer editing and effects. good how he went into detail about each component. don't know that I liked the way it ended with him just driving. could've used some exterior shots at least to end it |

I was thinking that too. But just before I started second-guessing my recent decision to spec mine with Tanzanite, I remembered that Skyscraper can appear two-dimensional (or at least rather sullen) under English skies, especially in an autumn/winter like we've just had! Not that overcast weather exactly flatters TBII, of course; but somehow it has got more character in less-than-ideal light conditions, elegant though this grey looks in the vid here.
Pretty assiduous review, anyway; and some nice steady shots of the car itself, which is always refreshing in these days of hyperactive camerawork.
