50th Anniversary or standard Roundel?

Given the option would you (or did you) opt for the 50th Anniversary Roundel or stick with the standard Roundel?

I think it depends on the exterior color chosen. Some will go better with the anniversary Roundels than others.

For me it's just kind of busy and I feel like I have to search for the real Roundel somewhere amidst all of the circle parts. And it also seems to make the Roundel part of it about 50% smaller.

I agree.

I saw some photos on FB of it on a Dravit G80 and it looked ok. Kind of looked like those stickers people sometimes put over them instead of the actual badge.

I feel like the standard ones mesh with most colors better as we are all much more used to it.

Agreed. I saw that dravit g80 and the roundels didn't fit the car.

I ordered DG and am looking forward to the anniversary badges. If it was some eBay tchotchke, I would probably roll my eyes, but I like the extra color splash and the history behind it. This will be my fourth BMW but my first M car, so I appreciate the specialness involved in overlapping with the anniversary year.

(Though I can respect those who prefer the classic/simpler design, especially on some colors.)

I feel 50th Anniversary emblems go well with BG and i opted them. Its definitely not for all exterior color options.

I wanted to add them to my build but my dealer advised me against it (for now). Production should start next week so we try not to change anything. Dealer will order them for me after the car is built and will fit them to my PB car. Do they go well with PB, not sure...but I do want to try them.

Smart CA. And being able to sample them on your actual car is the best bet.

Camera hole doesn’t look great but I still think they’re neat. I’m jelly for sure.

At the end of the day, all that matters is that you like it. Total matter of personal taste. It's nice that you have the option to opt in and out.

I have no idea how it will look on IoMG, but I'm rolling the dice and keeping them on mine. If worst comes to worst, I can order some regular badges and put them on.

But I like the idea of it being a 50th anniversary car, and being one of the last manual M cars produced.

VW definitely gets credit for the most discrete backup camera system. (Though knowing VAG reliability it'll probably break after 5k miles.)

While I'm not crazy about the look...I like that there's history behind them and it gives the car a bit of specialness over standard badging. If this ends up being a car I keep long term, I think those badges will feel even more special. I'm doing Oxford Green, and while there isn't any green in the badging, I don't think it'll clash either.

I think these are the first non-marketing pictures of the badges I've seen. Looks really good to me! Definitely happy with my choice for now.

My wife's MB does this too!

I think the 50th Anniversary badges look too 70's to me....and of course that was BMW's point.
