I'd highly recommend just buying the tire inflater set that comes with the car (for those that ordered without run flats). It'll cover you about 90% of the time, and you'll still be able to use your trunk.

By the time you get a jack and a spare in your trunk it'll be full...

BMW Mobility Kit: Part # 71-10-2-333-674 for about $150
Or get a can of fix-a-flat for twenty bucks if you want to save a buck

There's a reason these cars don't ever come with a spare tire. The mobility kit is the "OEM" solution.

Modern Spare, not cheap$$
https://modernspare.com/

I bought the jack kit, not the spare, spare would leave no room in trunk. Between the BMW mobility kit and the tire repair kit I bought, I should get by without a spare. The jack may be needed to repair the tire, as you may need to remove it to patch.

Thanks for your reply. I'm waiting to hear back from them. Seems like they only have size 18? Are there any other options from BMW? Do they offer a space savor for our car? Did anyone actually get another full size wheel and tire and throw it in the trunk?

I was told that size 18 was ok but I would need a spacer for the brakes. Can anyone confirm this?

Has Anyone actually tried to see if this spare fits with the spacer, for those who have one?

I just received this and it fits with the spacer. I put it in the trunk. With the frequency of punctures in Northern NJ, I want to have a spare and am glad to have it.

Thanks for your reply ! I was afraid it might not fit. How long did it take you to put it on with the spacer?

The procedure is to bolt the spacer to the hub with the OEM hardware. Then you bolt the donut to the spacer. I wasn’t trying for any speed records in my garage as I wanted to learn how to do it. I would say that bolting the spacer to the hub is a few minutes. But I’ll add that the complete kit is pretty good. I strapped the wheel in the trunk using the tie down hooks.

Thanks for your reply ! I ordered the whole kit. Did you actually change you tires to non run Flats? I did and I noticed a big difference. Pilot sport 4S

Anytime! The car came without run flats so I do t know how that feels. However when I saw the mobility kit and remembered the damage I’ve had due to pot holes, I felt that a donut was in order. Get a pair of tie downs and use the hooks in the trunk to keep it from sliding around.

I got a jack from modern spare (they’re very responsive btw) and have ordered a stock OEM wheel and tire from my dealer. Pricey, but I’ve been jammed up on road trips before and would rather make space than be without on a long trip.

I totally agree with your assessment of Modern Spare and wanting to account for mishaps.

Doesn’t the mobility kit come with the $2400 HD Cooling and Tire Package?

I'll be buying a full-sized spare wheel for my 230i when it arrives. The goo only works on basic punctures, not if there's a gash in the tyre or a damaged rim. And rural driving in Australia can mean a long distance between towns, and even further between towns likely to have a suitable replacement tyre.
On a recent club trip, one car hit a pothole badly enough to bend the wheel and destroy a tyre. Fortunately I had a spare wheel - we were out of cell phone range a long way from the next town. For our next road trip, at least 4 cars have spare wheels now!

No, it comes with all of the non-runflat tire options. Of which there are several, mostly no-cost options.
