Hello all,

I have been thinking of installing a stealth hitch on my 2022 X3M 11/2021 built. From my research it appeared that BMW stopped pre-wiring the tow harness in 2020 (8SL when running the VIN). I ran my vin and it had no 8sl listed but to my surprise when removing the passenger side (us model) cover in the trunk there was a harness. Is this the tow harness?

I don't know if that is the tow harness, but the 2022 X3MC I took delivery of yesterday has 8SL on the build sheet. I assumed it was still standard equipment, as I didn't order it.

I recently retrofitted a tow hitch and used the OEM tow wiring harness, and that's the same plug where I plugged my harness in. So yeah, it looks just like the correct tow plug for the harness.

Yes, that is factory tow hitch wiring.
I have done plenty of StealthHitch install and a few with factory harness that need coding.
