M Performance Black Badge INSTALLED + bonus led projectors

It was a warmer day outside so I got a chance to install the black M240i Badge (Oem badge Part number 51-14-2-472-854)
The back end looks very aggressive now!

My thumbs aren't to happy though

Plenty of installation videos on youtube but here's what I did
  1. Wash the car
  2. Blue tape around the badge. This allows you to mark out exactly where the badge was (so make sure to put it right on the edge!) and protects the paint while you work.
  3. Heat up badge with hair dryer
  4. use fishing line to saw it off
  5. use heat and thumbs to clean off the glue (or 3m wheel but I didn't have one)
  6. clean the area with some rubbing alcohol
  7. place new badge on and give it some good rubs/presses
  8. remove blue tape
  9. add wax/clear to the area

Let led projectors are a super easy install. Part numbers: Led Door Light Projectors (50mm) 63-31-2-463-924 and M Performance Slides For Led Door Projectors 63-31-2-469-631

Retail from BMW is $123 for the projectors but https://www.mybimmerparts.com/ has them for $97 plus m slides for $29 and if you through in interior cleaning wipes for $4 you get free shipping over $130.

Great work, it's all coming together really nicely.

Was the black badge from BMW ?

I'll defiantly be getting the projectors for mine when it arrives, as my TTRS has Audi Sport ones so would be a shame to not have something similar on the M240.

I do like that you have the option to change the projector design unlike Audi though.

Oem badge Part number 51-14-2-472-854

Yea I'll switch it out once I get the 50th Anniversary badges. The M slide set comes with the same logo

Buy the oem part number if you want quality or any if the various after market ones. Most people say the $15 Amazon ones the slides go blurry after a year since not made to take the heat of the LED

Any ways use a flat head or a trim tool and push it in. There's a little notch on the side facing towards the interior.

Push away from the interior and then kind of pull it down.

Unplug old, plug in new. Stuff it back in. Spinning the slide so it's facing how you want it to face om the floor takes the longest part of

Did you do the door stills yourself?
Can you show some pics of the door stills?

Yea! Super easy! Under 5 min for both and most of that time was just cleaning under them and letting it dry.

You can use a trim tool with the fork front but I just used my fingers.

Start at the corner and pull up a bit. Once it came up kept mu fingers flat and just started moving them towards the other side. Eventually all 6 tabs popped

Clean under them

I reused the plastic tabs. The new sills come come with a full set in case you break any

Line up the tabs and push it in. I noticed it went in easier if the side closest to the interior is angled downwards a little bit.

No complaints from me. Have it in my wife's X1 for years and it was easy to clean and held up great.

These new seats feels even better and they clean up easily so far. The cognac is a great color and many people have complimented it.

You are absolutely killing me with all these photos of these mods. They look great!

I'm closing on a house in 10 days and you have me wanting to spend all my money on accessories...

I heard milk crates make great chairs and are a hell of a lot cheaper than furniture.

Congrats on the house! The ///M240i will make the driveway/garage look that much better

2 car garage, f****** finally. I'll admit getting the car in November really sped along the house search and acquisition. Now I just have to decide what to get to fill the second garage space.

I basically am planning on doing 50th anniversary badges and the spoiler as soon as possible. I've scraped the rubber front end enough times already to shy away from the carbon front bits. I also love those door sills. Which tires did you end up with?

All season runflats - pirelli cinturato p7. I have not scraped yet there were a few spots I was surprised I didn't.

BMW did my spoiler install. They used Betalink. The guy here in the spoiler thread used 3m tape. You can find the spoiler around $480 on from some of the sites and one of the sponsors has $499 for free shipping.

Nice, yeah I have the same tire setup. Probably the only thing that I'm not the biggest fan of. Will change out for something wider in the summer. What all else do you plan on doing?
