I began my journey ordering my 6th M car in May 2021. I knew I wanted something different and not a conventional colour so decided Porsche Riviera blue would be a good choice. One of my favourites is frozen silver but I thought he who dares... order a colour that is impossible to preview in person or for quite some time even see photos of.

The problem with Riviera Blue is it's very difficult to photograph, it looks so much different in person and depending on the light seems to change more than anything else I've ever photographed.

My build was a G80 Xdrive Ultimate pack with CCB's, M Pro, carbon buckets, basically everything possible to option in the UK.

The carbon buckets are a bit marmite on comfort - but I wasn't bothered about this having come from a GT3RS that I never got to drive very often (and I am not one for not driving my cars).

Usually I load my cars with M Performance carbon and accessories. I will be taking my time to add to this car - initially I wanted the 1000m wheels in gold and the entire carbon library (skirts, diffusor, exhaust etc) - but I'm still unsure. No rush.

What an amazing car! I will update as I've drive it more - but I think I prefer it to my F90 M5 and any other BMW I've owned. Well done BMW and for those waiting - it's well worth waiting!
