Anyone else feel like they were kind of low key making fun of this car and its owners with all the "great for daily drivers in traffic" and nice for "going to doctor appointments or if you are a lawyer comments as well as multiple references to the xDrive system being included by BMW for people that have to drive in poor weather? Personally, I think the inclusion of xDrive has more to do with performance over poor weather driving ability. There was almost zero talk about the performance of the car and they didn't take it to the track either. Real stark contrast to their M3CS review a few yers back.

it’s from their daily driving series where they specifically focus on the dd’ability of the car. So I don’t think he is trying to make fun of this car. It’s also not their first G80 review.

Honesty I can't stand these guys. They are so annoying when the harp on stupid topics. It's why I stopped watching savage geese.

They talk about how the car lacks personality and how oh it's not about the money but… for this much money the car better have it.

They always say the same thing all of these car guys. At the end of the day they are all copying the original top gear format and the only one who is constantly entertaining and accurate is mat Watson to me at least

I liked this review. I don't think they were unfairly negative and called out some good facts about the car. It's a great looking ride. The reality is many will get this as a daily drive and not a track weapon and in those situations the guidance this review gave is spot on.

I also think they were right about the grills growing quickly on people. I went from being a hater to seeing a few in person and now having a deposit down on a M3 for '23. Well played BMW.

I freakin hate the Savage Geese guy. He’s so angry and negative about everything, not just BMW (although he clearly had a special hate for them). The guy seriously seems like a miserable person.

On the other hand, freakin Love Matt Watson. So entertaining and knowledgeable.

The front end looks decent (not amazing) in that color. I'm fact the car looks good in dark non flashy colours

It's their new format…to dive into all the little things that you'll see using this thing every day and not just raging on the track.

It's useful, thanks for sharing!

Love savagegeese
Agree xdrive is not pure but just for daily drive in bad weather. Honestly kinda sad that BMW gave up to VAGina and their Quattro and had to put in xdrive in a traditional RWD sports sedan icon.
Again Savagegeese rules

Thank you finally someone who agrees. I mean who wants to watch two monotone guys bitch about something without adding anything of substance.

They literally just bitch to bitch. Go watch their 840i review if you want to laugh

All they do is go in circles and contradict themselves

To be fair this actually wasn't a bad review from a daily driver standpoint. I usually don't like TheStraightPipes reviews and only watch them when it's a car I'm really interested in learning about, but this was good and informative.

I still prefer ThrottleHouse as they're more entertaining and cover the enthusiast perspective much better.

You should be happy they still offer you a 6mt version

Oh and it's been proven that the xDrive on the G8x is NOT just for bad weather. Ask the owners who moved from RWD to xDrive, and the magazines and reviewers that say xDrive is the way to go unless you really want a manual

How can you do a daily drive review and not talk about road noise. Harry's Garage does db meter readings which is very useful information. This is 20 minutes of 'you can rewind satellite radio and the suspension comfortable'.

Savage Geese do they most in-depth, informative, high quality reviews out there. Mat Watson does drag races…

Didn’t know the AWD option would offer the ability to switch to RWD. Then again, when I placed my order, a AWD version didn’t exist. Either way, that’s awesome. Love that the G8x generation is so customizable to your personal preferences. Great job BMW.

The Straight Pipes is pretty good although I've been watching them less lately since the information and production quality of Throttle House is better than anyone else on YouTube right now IMO. Savagegeese is OK, someone mentioned they hate BMW, the last couple I've seen from them have been quite complimentary, particularly the X3MC.

You mean the carwow production crew is knowledgeable? Matt Watson is a great presenter, no doubt but I don't think he is imparting his own knowledge.

I see your point. I guess when Matt does road course reviews and straight up comparisons/reviews with no drag racing, I find him pretty knowledgeable. But, no doubt, there are more in-depth channels out there.
