Room for spare tire?

I know they have run flats, but I'm extremely unlucky and always carry a spare tire.

Is there a place in the trunk to hide a spare tire or would it just have to sit on top in the trunk area?

Also what brand & model of all season tires has anyone seen?

in the videos i've seen people haven't even been able to lift up the trunk bed piece that the spare would be under.. so i'm guess there's isn't any additional storage under it...

I would have bought "spare tire" as an option with non-runflats if that had been available

Thanks, I also would have done the same thing. I'll just swap out the run flats as they fail with standard tires as time progresses.

Unless you want zero trunk space there's no way this is going to work. There is no hidden under-trunk area or anything, and even getting it in the trunk itself will be a squeeze

Just order it without the runflats so you get the free inflater kit (and awesome staggered size tires)

I wouldn't recommend mixing run-flat and non-run-flat on the car at the same time.

The only thing underneath the trunk floor is the battery and the fuel tank.

IIRC there is a site that sells BMW spare tire kits that come with a spare and jack kit but it would take up close to 50% of your trunk volume.

I was interested in getting a spare as I was just at Discount Tire fixing a Nail in my Pirelli tires. I have non RFT right now from factory.

I decided to go with non run flat. Not going to carry a spare. The mobility kit, add a patch kit, plus AAA. It will be my 1st car with no spare.

See how it goes.

Maybe I've just been lucky but in 55 years of driving cars I've had only 1 flat on the road. 1 other flat was a flat that i only discovered when moving the car out of the garage so that was no biggie.
so i don't worry about it.

side note: i was looking for a jack in the BMW, couldn't find it, but then duh...no spare...no jack.

I have had flats on my motorcycle on the road, kinda tough to carry a spare on a bike, so it's the plug and mini air compressor to the rescue. I will not use the slime stuff (if plugging), it keeps the plugs from adhering to the tire (just my experience).

There's not much space under that lid. The battery in these things is huge! I guess it's because of the auto stop start.

Did you manage to get the trunk floor / lid up to look underneath? I want to get in there because I have something rattling in there but I just can't figure out how to lift it.

You have to stick a trim tool or something similar in the gap and lever the lid up to get a grip on it.

You probably are hearing the "Rear suspension thump" - search for that Thread here for more info: "Rear suspension thump"

Not much to see here, trim tool lifts this out. At the corner near the storage net is easy to lift the the whole floor comes out
Room for a few electronics like Dashcam batteries but that’s about it.
It pays to keep a trim tool in the cargo net just in case
