Arrow BUILD: 2021 G80 M3 Competition - Stormtrooper

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Firstly, it has been a few years and a couple models since I have been active on these forums but I never stopped trolling the threads for useful information. So, props to everyone in this community for keeping it up and providing such a valuable resource for useful information. I have always found this forum helpful and to that end, the purpose of this thread is to provide some useful information for others as I upgrade the G80 M3 Competition.

As the build progresses I will post before/after images, reviews, links, suggestions, etc. to help you all make your own determinations for your projects. I encourage you all to ask questions and provide your input along the way as my taste, suggestions and opinions are purely subjective. Hopefully the open communication will allow others make informed decisions before spending their hard-earned dollars. Also, considering this build is based on trial and error to suit my preferences, in some instances I will be listing like-new products for sale so be sure to check the Build Specs for updates.

OEM Specs:
2021 BMW M3 Competition
Alpine White / Black Merino Leather
Carbon Fiber Interior Trim
M Carbon Bucket Seats
M Carbon Exterior Package
M Compound Brakes with Blue Calipers
19/20" M Double-spoke Bi-color Wheels
Pirelli P-Zero Tires

Build Specs:
Ordered: Vorsteiner Kidney Grills
Ordered: Racing Sport Concepts (RSC) Rear Diffuser
Ordered: Racing Sport Concepts (RSC) Lower Diffuser
Ordered: Active Autowerke Signature Single Mid-pipe
Installed: KW Height Adjustable Spring (HAS) Kit
Installed: Future Classic Spacers (15f/12r)
Installed: IND Painted Side Marker Set
Installed: M Performance Carbon Rear Winglets
Installed: M Performance Carbon Rocker Blades
Installed: M Performance Carbon Front Lip
Installed: M Performance Floor Mat Set
Installed: IND Painted Front Reflector Set
Installed: IND Painted Rear Reflector Set

NOTE: Most parts have been sourced from AUTOcouture for their premium quality products and Mike (mike@x-ph.com) at Extreme Power House for the constant support of the members here.
Their communication is outstanding and it makes the whole process a lot more reassuring, especially given the incredible delay on most parts these days. I highly recommend them.

Built and ordered the 2021 G80 M3 Competition in November 2020 when I turned in my F80 M3 Competition. The car was finally delivered to Advantage BMW Houston Midtown in March 2021 and I was not able to accept delivery until mid April 2021. Here are some pictures of the original spec in the showroom and the day of delivery as a reference.

Your avatar says you are in Houston. Let me ask you how come you guys are wearing masks. Just a personal choice by you or did they make you at the dealership?
Love the car OP, I'm also in Houston and our cars are twins minus the exterior carbon package.

That pic is from March/April, can't remember if it was mandatory then. As of today it's a personal preference here. I wear a mask in heavily crowded areas, like a grocery store for example. I generally gauge the situation before putting a mask on.

M Performance Parts & Painted Reflectors

M Performance released the first exterior carbon fiber parts for the G80 M3. They are produced by BMW with perfect OEM fitment. The quality of the weave and finish is superb, matching the original carbon fiber accents from the factory nicely. While the products themselves are great, the package as a whole is a bit obnoxious IMO. The canards and spoiler are a swings and a misses while the center-mounted exhaust is a humiliating strikeout.

The M Carbon Exterior Package from factory offers a more aggressive look and some beautiful details, but I found myself wanting more to complete the stock look and complement the M Carbon Bucket Seats. The black plastic side rocker panels and rear winglets felt like a budget conscious decision and safe alternative over carbon fiber for BMW. I do not think the black plastic OEM pieces are ugly or take away from the car by any means; however, I opted to jump on the first parts available to help complete the carbon fiber look with more accent details around the exterior.

The awful red and orange reflectors are required on all US cars and not an intentional design detail from the factory. Like me, most people cannot stand the distraction they create from the overall appearance so I opted for the painted pieces from IND to achieve a more clean look similar to the European models.

Attached images include the installation of the painted front and rear reflectors as well as select M Performance parts, including:

1. M Performance Carbon Front Lip
2. M Performance Carbon Rocker Blades
3. M Performance Carbon Rear Winglets

Very nice. Autocouture does all the work on my car. Its going in next week for the KW has kit and Fall-line oil cooler cover. My previous F80 was alpine white. Which was one of the most popular colors on the F80. I feel like its one of the rarest on the G80 lol

Makes me want to get an AW car.

Love it. The CF accents really take the car to another level.
