Fun but not entirely surprising results. RS5 Sportback would have been a more obvious competitor, though it too would likely have lost some dynamic points against the M3. If BMW were to make a GC version of the upcoming M2, that would really be the ideal matchup against the RS3, though I highly doubt that will happen.

I think he was wrong about the turbo lag in the rs3. My S3 has terrible throttle lag in regular drive, and it disappears when in sport mode. And that M3 has that awful grill…….

That new RS3 has a terrible grille that looks like it's about to swallow the planet. Just awful

Is it an overpriced Golf if it's much better than a Golf, which....makes it not a Golf?

Don't bother watching this boring "comparison". Even at 2x times speed I couldn't wait for it to finish. Basically they said audi still feels like a fwd based a3 while M3 feels a lot more special to drive and offers a better value. Nothing new here.

Oh dear that was truly awful with laughable BMW bias.

£78k starting price M3 XDrive

Vs

£51k starting price RS3

And he even states they are similar money. It's bonkers what can pass for journalism these days.

Might as well compare the M135i vs RS3 Sportback as the price difference is LESS in that matchup.

Yes of course an M3 is better than an RS3. I'm looking forward to the Q8 vs X1 'review next'. :

I notice no drag race which might have been incredibly close and almost worthwhile. However they seemed content with an interior quality 'feel' test on two cars £25k apart that are performance machines.

100% agree.

This is clearly a BMW bias video.

My favorite part is that they bash the RS3 during the whole video, but then conclude that the "Audi is good. Real good." C'mon guys!!

What a boring video

No excitement at all, not even a quick drag race or timed lap

How are they going to take two sports sedans and not race them

The point is:

1. Base model M3C versus fully spec RS3
2. Post discounts and finance they are similarly priced monthly.

I think it is a poor review overall but the key takeaway for me is that the RS3 is overpriced.

Although I already knew that having had a quote for a Vorsprung spec, and M3C and an X4MC.

The most expensive car turned out to be the cheapest.

Lets take a moment and appreciate that while BMW grilles are mad, Audi has them on another level. Just look at that ugly front of RS3! wow.

It was a base M3C though. I saw at least extended leather…

I do agree that a loaded RS3 isn't good value. No way I'd be going into £60k territory for them. Once you start doubling a case entry level price it rocky ground on for and finish.

Here in the U.K. an RS3 can starts from £4K in and £430 a month Vs an M3C £5k and £890.

I'm looking at an RS3 option, and hence my defensive comments 🤓, but yes ETTO and the M3 for me is a nicer car but I'm looking at compact size too. No bad car here … just bad comparison.

Audi doesn't do much for me, never a fan of FWD biased cars with tech wizardry trying to mimic driving dynamics of a RWD platform. Just buy a RWD platform and move on.

Audi's have no soul and no emotion. They are boring to drive. Even the RS models.
