Wholesale Factory Warranty?

Hi Forum,

I was wondering if there are any wholesale friendly factory warranty dealers out there? My M240i is on order and I'd like to get an extended factory warranty well below what the local place will sell it for.

Other vehicles I've own before had dealers out there that wholesale them at very reasonable prices (Most recently for me with Toyota, Jeep, and Honda)

Thanks!
Jay

So I did a little digging on the forum and there is a dealer who has competitive pricing out of California.

Here is what I was quoted:

Here are the options for extension. This is the Platinum with no deductible. All time and miles begin from the vehicles original in service date. BMW will cover a vehicle for a total of 7 years. These options add an additional 1, 2 or 3 years of warranty.

60 months/75k miles $2750
60 months/100k miles $3050
72 months/75k miles $3300
72 months/100k miles $3750
84 months/75k miles $3850
84 months/100k miles $4400

Maintenance includes the brakes
48months/50k miles $1449
60 months/75k miles $2249
72 months/100k miles $3299
84 months/125k miles $4149

I cannot believe how much more expensive an extended BMW factory warranty is over a Toyota Supra, which is essentially the same car.

60 months/100k miles $950
72 months/75k miles $750
72 months/100k miles $1220
84 months/75k miles $885
84 months/100k miles $1460
108 months/100k miles $2055
120 months/100k miles $2230

As an aside, I usually purchase extended factory warranties from dealerships all over the country that sell them for reasonable prices. I do this for 2 reasons, 1) If I keep it, I'm covered for the life of my ownership, 2) If I sell it privately I can transfer it and help with my sale, or cancel it for a prorated refund when I trade it in. I enjoy peace of mind when the cost isn't counter productive.

If BMWs extended warranty was the same price as Toyota, I'd be all in. The Toyota coverage is 1/4th the cost depending upon the terms and can be had for a much longer duration.

I hope this helps.

welcome to expensive world of BMWs... I purchased out of state Ford warranty 10 years ago for 2 year old Mustang GT. Covered for 5 extra years and I paid only about $800, was almost bumper to bumper except for $50 deductible I think
