Evaero G8X M3 M4 Bumper With Modified Grill - Update

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Its been a while but this has been challenging with all the design constraints due to the amount of space behind the OE bumper and the shape of the hood/bonnet.

I would like to point out this is bumper has been designed to provide an alternative to the OEM just like there have been aftermarket options for the E9X M3, F8X M3 and F87 M2.

We are at the stage where will produce a prototype in carbon fibre and see how it looks on the physical car. For now the renders below are based off the actual CAD of the bumper.

Until we have physically tested it on the car the two small dimples are there to keep the parking sensors in the exact OEM position. We will see if this can be adjusted. The bottom lip is separate from the bumper so can be finished in carbon, painted body colour or gloss black allowing for individual finishes.

I respect the amount of work going into this project. I don't see how people can be so offended by a bold looking front end to "need" this to buy the car though. Keep up the good work!

Interestingly my issue with the G80/G82 isn't so much about the grill, as it is about the lower part of the bumper that is C-shaped that wraps to the other side (looks like a wide U-shaped smile). Personally, this is the worst part of the front end design. I wish these lines continue to move towards the sides of the bumper, rather than curving inward. I think it would look so much more aggressive.

Looking forward to seeing the physical prototype, renders look pretty good but can’t beat the real thing.

I’ve said this all along - not necessarily the grilles but the other design elements that make it look wonky. I do think it looks okay in the render above where the “lower lip” of the mouth is blacked out

I think it looks pretty good.
Only thing is the missing frame of the kidney grills.
Frameless grill opening is unique to the G80/82/83 while all other models have the frames.

Completely agree.

Nice work evolve. I would like to see something more along the lines of those side intakes being tweaked. The grille doesn't need to be smaller or changed necessarily.

I think something like this would be a lot easier to produce since the grille stays the same.

While it has approved appearance of the vehicle, I will agree with some of the members it has not solved the issue with lower portion of the bumper.

I think this is the best yet and will iterated on, but what about the people that may think the M3 or M4 is the perfect car just needing a $2,500 mod? (or cheaper?)

People spend way more than that fine tuning an exhaust here, how could they be offended by the original tone? Personal preference?

Probably one of the better/best grill alternatives I have seen, but I would still go with stock (or CSL style)

Definitely an improvement IMO, it puts the top of the grille openings more parallel with the headlights where they should be. The G8X is a styling disaster no matter what, but this front end treatment certainly helps.

Certainly appreciate the effort and creativity, but still prefer the original grille over this (I'm no fan of the original but certainly don't dislike it as much as others).

It's a tough thing to correct given how dramatic the original design is…I feel like no matter what you do it isn't going to look right because there is no way to incorporate subtlety with the rest of the car. So might as well leave it as is. But still looking forward to what others come up with.
