Any reason to connect wifi?

I do not have the wifi hotspot in my car. I was wondering if there was any purpose for me to connect my phone to the wifi in the car?

The Vehicle is supposed to have better reception in fringe areas. Tablets, iPads, e-readers often do not have cellular and can benefit from a hotspot.
