After delivery Performance center experience

When I preordered the car in September I asked my dealer about getting the car delivered to the performance center in Greer instead of the dealer. They told me it would delay delivery of the car and instead proposed signing up for the "after delivery" experience where you get to do the same things even though you already have your car.

I was wondering if anyone has done the experience in Greer and if it was worth doing.

I almost did this experience. I was told that the on track part, while in their cars, did not require a helmet. I immediately deduced that it would not be that fun due to the slower speeds. As a track guy, I was not interested. However, if someone's not be on track before, it sounded like it'd be pretty cool, especially since they cover the hotel, some meals, and the hospitality on track.

I'm only 45 minutes away from Greer so I figure I don't have much to lose if its underwhelming.

The BMW Performance Center does NOT require helmets even if you're going to be on track at 100+ MPH

Really??? No bueno, in my book. It was told to me by my salesman that they regulate the speeds in the cars...that's why no helmet he said.

Yeah, you should do it. Tell us all about it when you're done. That way, when I upgrade to my M550i, I'll make a more informed choice!
