muffler delete
Called my guy to discuss resonator delete and he said if i want even better sound, leaves the resonators amd delete the mufflers. Any feedback on this idea?

Feedback has been fairly unanimous on that leaving the valve functionality of the OEM rear set alleviates drone & allows your exhaust tone to by dynamic to your driver mode input. That being said, do it and report back! Believe you'd be a first to chop the rear suitcase. Might sound great.
edit: FWIW -- I have ran a dual res chop, X pipe add & secondary cat delete for almost 8K miles am quite happy. However, definitely more than 1 way to skin the cat. |

It’s not a Ford F-150… maybe find an exhaust shop that is familiar with custom fab/ or race application if possible. This is a very simple mod- but you want someone who understands& appreciates the complexity of that muffler set. It has a little more thought put into it in regards to the engine mapping than a magnaflow slip on.

My next door neighbor bought his son a Tundra and he cut everything from under and I am sick of hearing the damn thing start up and smelling the gas from it when he comes in. I'm all about good sound but that shit is horrible. It made me reconsider doing anything to my exhaust. Don't get me wrong, I like the sound of a nice exhaust but not at the expense of others space.

this guy owns a German car place, worked on a lot of BMW and m cars but has not seen a g8x yet.i haven't seen one in my town at all yet.he did muffler delete on older models so that's why he suggested it.on this model I think I'm sticking with res delete. just wondered if anyone had heard or seen muffler delete on this model

Im not a fan of either one but if I have to pick, I would keep the muffler and delete the resonators.
Without mufflers the car will drone and lose a lot of mid-range volume

The best exhaust mod outcome I have ever experienced was AWE Track (muffler delete) in my Macan Turbo
Of course, lots of factors go into the success v. failure I am more than happy with stock exhaust on my G80C and not chasing 'better' or louder . . . but curious to see if AWE comes out with Track setup for G80/82 ///AVM |

Those who are providing anecdotal feedback- how many of you have heard a G8X IN PERSON with a chop job (res delete(s) & or secondary cats removed? If not & your semi local to DFW, let’s meet for a sandwich
I have a buddy local to me with a G8X as well. He’s gone with w named mid pipe section, and I’ll tell you what — they sound ODDLY similar when outside of car listening to revs or inside just the same. My $.02 cents — please keep it valued as such, as I’m not one for thread drama. |
