Chicago area shop recommendation for oil pan thread repair?
Hi all, when I did my last oil change I'm pretty sure I damaged the thread inside the oil pan while I was using a wide range torque wrench and now i can't remove the drain plug because it's just spinning when I try to loosen/tighten it Only good thing is that the plug isn't leaking right now.
I have a 2016 328ixdrive so the drain plug is steel and I think the pan is aluminum so thats why I'm thinking the thread inside the pan is damaged and not just the plug's thread. Anyways, I was looking for recommendations in the Chicagoland area that would do this type of repair without replacing/removing the oil pan because of $$$. I've read on forums that TIME-SERT thread repairs are the best but I'm not sure how common that kit is among shops. Thanks! |
