Great video, Ive been communicating with Brooks all the way back at the MBWorld startup days (2002) aka Fikse there.

He always has had tremendous quality and content.

M3 feels archaic and old school in this video especially it has to shift gears 4 times just to cross 1/4 mile.

10:38 Reminds of a Grand Tour episode where Clarkson says "what I am going to do is demonstrate a difference between a really fast car (m4) and a bugatti chiron"

Well model S plaid have pretty much same acceleration numbers as Chiron under 150MPH so it's just mind boggling how we can get hypercar performance numbers from a 150K EV

The moment we have all been waiting for, FINALLY.

Thanks for the video! That Plaid is stupid fast and when you watch how the Rimac made the Plaid look slow, it blows my mind.

Extremely impressive for a mid-size 4-door saloon that can do quite a bit more than just go fast in a straight line!

Impressive times on the street and with Pirellis. Wonder if Michelin PS 4S would improve traction on the street? Also hope Brooks takes it to his local drag strip to try to get into the 10's like he expects

Great video! Looks like this car is a 3.1s 0-60, 11.2-3s 122mph 1/4 mi car on regular roads with launch control. That’s fantastic performance, and a great base for the aftermarket.

The AWD M3 might be the best non-EV daily use performance car on the market, especially when cost is considered.

Have they? Because every time Tesla is brought up it seems "straight line performance doesn't matter". When an m3 makes good 0-60 or 1/4 mile numbers then suddenly it seems to matter.

Great video but putting in there with the plaid made the m3 seem … average in the testing. This video single handily exposed the sad truth. If your not buying the car for the sheer driving experience the numbers are pointless

You need to watch the Rimac versus the Plaid.

Except the Rimac is a 2.4+ million dollar hypercar. Next to no one would cross shop that to the M3 or Plaid.

This is true, I don't disagree with you. Still blows my mind to see how fast the Rimac is compared to the Plaid.
The Plaid blows the doors off pretty much any car in a drag race. It's insanely fast.

Too funny. I figured it out I think. It doesn't matter ever with manual tranny. It only matters with RWD when it's a win and it now matters for sure with xdrive because it's a good number but that Plaid sure made it look slow.

This is why I sold my M5 for a plaid.

I appreciate gas power and love the G80. But for a daily driver I'd rather have instant throttle response in traffic, save 700+ a month on gas, not deal with methanol, warranty issues, modifications, etc.

For those of you willing to deal with those headaches, these cars are going to be awesome. They seem to launch better than the M5. hopefully they can do mid to high 9s and low 2 second 0-60 on stock internals. Should match plaid performance with a built engine.
