BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Another strong result for the M3 Comp. a standard RWD model goes up against a tuned Mustang GT and a tuned R34 Nissan GTR. Both the Mustang & GTR have over 700hp

It's traction limited anyway. 11.4 doesn't mean much more than that the tire is warm and surface is not bad.

I also wonder how long it would take for this channel to realize how critical of an indicator the trap speed is.

How the hell did a RWD M3 keep up with an AWD GTR and a Mustang with drag radials?! Not to mention they both have 200+ HP over the G80? Wtf

Lol. But in fairness that was a old model with "just" 750hp.

There is always an excuse with these highly tuned cars

They're broken half the time or have a leak boost or have traction issues or some other nonesense

Agreed. They are usually just for the specs and rarely show the intended results. The exception is when the tuning is done by a tuner that knows what they are doing.

Carwow isn't for enthusiasts

Also it's manual. A human can't possibly shift faster than a fast shifting automatic in a straight line.

Well the GTR was manual. As for the Mustang, I'm assuming 1) the tires weren't warmed up sufficiently... and 2) it shows the strength of launch control in the M3. Let the computer sort out the traction off the line as opposed to a person and this is the result you get.

No, the GTR being manual has nothing to do with it. A manual proper 800hp R34 will do low 10's on street rubber. That one was just broken.

That's mustang is much faster than 12.2 in 1/4 lol

20 years ago I built a fox body with stroked pushrod 351W and C4 Auto that ran 12.2.

Drop the pressure & Heat up the tires fella!!

See this is what I mean, there is always an excuse with tuned cars

I'm sure these guys have been around fast cars long enough to figure out the basics of heat and pressure…I'm sure the owner was probably standing right there off camera checking tire pressures

Bimmer won. No excuse. When you are going from a dead stop, anyone can win. Doesn't always play out how people think. I wish I had an R34!!! On your comment about always broke or boost leak? If you are driving some hack job you and uncle Joey put together, ok. For the R35 gang. 1000-1200 is pretty reliable. I have never had an issue with mine. I'm a bit overbuilt for my power but wanted the peace of mind. All I have done is change the oil and replace fuel filter. It's been such a solid car. Sean Ivey is the king in my book🤪 Again, Spun my hub on the F82 at 12,000 miles. Have a 1000 wheel on my junk Nissan and never had an issue. Bell housing was fixed under warranty at dealer. That's it in 10 years. Pretty solid in my book. All cars are going break. Just have to fix them better or build it better before it breaks.

If an R34 GTR was available today in the USA then I would take that over the new G80 M3. Especially if it was in that dark gray color… man brings me back.

Great car however Nissan is a garbage car company that is now completely drowning and probably will be canceling their GTR soon enough considering how poor they're doing financially
