Great review, but I wish they would have showed the installation process. It's just 3 connections you need to mate up but still.

@OP: Scheisse, you beat me to it. I wanted to post this video being Dutch. But you being German(?). Gratuliere, it's a Dutch-German collaboration

7.39s 100-200kmh: Nice. Map 7(650BHP?)

My MHD Stage 0 (M4GTS map?) 500HP M2Comp S55 does that in 7.9s in auto(DCT) mode so I'm still happy with that.

S58 is a monster engine too.

Martijn(?)'s G80 is looking great!

Cheers

I know saying it is 650bhp gets more attention & views but to most of us here the gains are 120bhp (100whp?) vs. baseline/stock. Still impressive & kinda expected for a piggyback if it drives & behaves well per his feedback.

Waiting for the "does this void my warranty" debate

It’s not a debate. Of course it voids the warranty. And 120hpmis massive IMO.

My experience with Racechip on a previous N20 was amazing. That's awesome to see it available on G8x now.

Oh my... This is all too tempting. I shouldn't of opened this thread. It provides us base folks literally a new car... Still trying to decide how I feel about it in regards to my own car though. I believe I will quietly sit back and popcorn for a while.

I’m very tempted to get one also. The problem is warranty issues. Also finding someone to put it in. I’ve seen the video and it’s not that easy.

I've Jb4'd and MHD'd in the past, but man I just feel like I should preserve this thing a little while longer... And of course, my dumbass paid for the extended warranties etc.

I don't need to ask - I KNOW my warranty is gone the moment it connects.

You can hook it up and then take it out without BMW knowing it. Just plugging it in doesn't necessarily void the warranty, pushing your car past stock parameters is the point at which BMW voids the warranty.

BMW can read the logs and see when you exceed the stock boost and acceleration numbers and that's how they know your car has been tuned.

That’s precisely what some of us thought but we have a member here that thinks we’re all idiots for believing this.

Really? This is a fact, they can most definitely 100% read the logs. There is no disputing this.

There’s an identical thread only on the JB4. There’s a couple of people specifically one guy that’s insistent saying we are all idiots if we think BMW knows we put a piggyback in. He would say that you (we) are stupid and don’t know what you’re talking about.

I think if you blow up your motor in a way that makes them question why, they will dig and eventually identify an overboost or timing change. Going in for routine maintenance, Nobody is looking for anything. They have literal minutes to get these cars in and out to maintain margins on service
