Is it just me or does the exhaust sound pretty close to the same as stock? 🤷🏻 I could hear a few differences at various points in the video but it didn't seem like it really transformed the overall sound, especially given what the guesstimates on cost has been ($8-10k). Starting to warm up to the look of the MPE but only by a little bit.

Out of all the M performance CF parts the only ones I still can't get behind are the front flicks, all others look good.

All the exterior performance parts just look terrible imho. The carbon winglets are enormous and look comical, the quad exhaust is hideous, the diffuser is lame, such a miss all the way around.

Waiting patiently on my end to see what companies like Vorsteiner come up with for the exterior of these vehicles. They hit it out of the park on the F82, I loved the parts on my old car.

Yup, doesn't sound different enough to justify the design… or the price.

Yep, I can't say I notice much improvement in sound, but this is also a European spec. I imagine the U.S. spec would have a more noticeable increase

That's true, forgot about that aspect.

I'm unimpressed with the exhaust. After driving my G80 for several weeks, I'm back in my F80 CS with MPE for a couple months since I had shoulder surgery. While the G80 drives so much better the F80 with MPE actually sounds like a performance car.

I'm a child (mentally), I like burbles. Not sure why they toned it down to the extent they did. As someone recently pointed out, the X3 M40i has more aggressive exhaust overrun than the G80.

I would like to hope they provide function over form. Enormous winglets should hopefully provide enormous downforce and allow for faster cornering, no? If you're getting them for any other reason, you deserve the pep-boys parts.

So with the increased cost of the diffuser and lower value of upgrading to MPE (less noticeable sound improvement, polarizing “quadhole” design, stock car sounds ok), I am guessing they will sell way fewer of these than F80 MPE exhausts.

They might have to tack them on the last of production cars and discount them to move the last of inventory.

This exhaust looks different enough to generate sales. I actually like it - just because it is VERY different.

awful design and sound improvement compared to MPE on the f80/ f87 at least from what you can hear in the vid seems minimal. selling 5 may be a stretch

Agree that the MPE is extremely quiet, especially when compared to the F8X. It's unfortunate honestly, hopefully the US models are louder? I guess we'll see. And don't get me started with how hideous looking the tailpipe layout is

It sounds pretty stock to me, although exhaust videos on youtube are pretty worthless.

The layout doesnt bother me, it's the requisite purchase of a diffuser that basically looks the same as the CF Exterior package i already have (other than the exhaust layout).

Nothing breaks the bank like OEM CF.

I honestly don't get the point of this exhaust.
In Europe with the Particulate Filter, it's no louder than the stock exhaust. So it's really for aesthetic reasons only.
In the states, I'm hoping for BMW's sake, that it transforms the car's sound completely. I did enjoy the induction noise of the G82 I drove but the exhaust is far too muted compared to my F87C.
So really, hopefully it has some function instead of just looking the way it does. I mean, looks are subjective...but it looks stupid. The stock exhaust look much better on the car and give it a wider appearance.

After seeing the winglets on the g82, the previous gen you have here the winglets look small

With that said, the diffuser on your old car is the best I've ever seen by faaaaaaar

My take: Even for the US models, the difference in sound relative to the stock system should be minimal. US cars are louder from the start becuase of the lack of particulate filters.

I do not expect the MPE-effect to be as drastic as with the F8x, where the MPE was basically a straight pipe from the secondary cats back.

Also, MPE for the F8x platform was banned in Europe from 07/2018 onwards.

My 2020 M4 was not homologated to use the MPE, even though apart from the OPF, nothing had changed.

Time will tell, I think these will stay on shelves, especially considering the eye-watering prices of the M-Perf parts (especially in Europe).

Somebody please remove this video from the internet. First....the exhaust sounds stock, looks like it came off an RCF and will probably cost a fortune....but that's not even close to the worst tragedy here. I've never seen a BMW that's been desecrated as bad as this one has. Look at those rinky-dink Auto Palace mini dive planes, or whatever they are supposed to be, tacked on to the front fenders. Is this a joke? And what is up with this Fisher Price side-skirt action that looks like it was made for an SUV? They look like running boards.

It just keeps getting worse for this car....so sad.
