Thanks for posting. Glad to see how dark TB II looks on camera. I can't imagine it swirling worse than black.

Now that he's done some time in the buckets we can now see some of the issues most have pondered with wear especially on that beautiful silver stone leather. He also said his significant didn't quite like being so isolated as well. I love the seats but there are drawbacks and the biggest for me would be the wear and tear getting in and out.

I think that's the first video of his that I appreciate. He's definitely right about the TB2 paint. Great spec on the car overall but that paint is as bad or worse than black for micro scratches. It's beautiful on my M340i but it's all scratches when the sun hits the side at the ride angle. I wouldn't do it again on a daily, especially with the up charge.

Just be aware that he's got a nice Youtube lease deal with bmw uk going on with this (and other) cars, alongside being an ambassador for Michelin.

Swirls are induced by improper wash techniques. The wind doesn’t magically decide to swirl tb paint.
You can correct, protect, and maintain to keep the paint looking good. If you can’t handle it get a color that hides imperfections more. |

I have TB X5, and it's absolutely true. It scratches like no other color no matter how careful you are.

Getting in and out was a huge point he made and I don’t think it’ll resonate with many people until you sit in one. I had the dealer try to upsell me on the M4 comp from the M2 comp and when I sat inside the new M4 getting in was one thing but getting out felt like I was doing some sort of yoga routine ducking my head to miss the roof while simultaneously arching my back like a body building and twisting my hips while my upper body stayed straight it was the weirdest thing and I’ve sat in many buckets.
* Personal opinion below * For me when I sat in the new M4 there was over whelming sence of OMG this is way to Preety and gorgeous a sence of specialness the car had. Which is great but for me that’s a hard buying factor for me. When I purchase a car the last thing I wanna feel is something that I don’t want to drive because I don’t wanna ruin it mess up the paint or damage anything inside. As a car enthusiast simple sometimes means more but for this interior which is way ahead of its competition gives me that overwhelming feeling of plz don’t drive me and sorry if this doesn’t resonate with anyone but it is merely personal opinion. |

Very true. I also have a Taz F80 for the last 3 years. No issues with swirl marks on the paint.
No one ever washes my car, except me. No car washes. Proper washing technique, tools and materials are the key, as others have said. Swirl marks are introduced during the washing process, particularly if you use circular motions while you wash. I do not obsess over the paint, but I do use a some common sense. I love the color, and I do not mind the extra care. I would get it again. Now, frozen paints, that is another story. I am definitely not ready to maintain frozen paint jobs. |

Yikes. The comment about Tanzanite has my OCD kicking in. I have a car in that I have to pick up at the end of the month in that color. Getting a ceramic coat is more than the cost of the paint job. I guess no more car washes. All hand wash. Hmm first world problems - lol

Swirls on paintwork are induced by incorrect washing techniques and are more pronounced on darker colours. Being a press car it wouldn't take long for the paint to get wrecked as it will have been cleaned by Youtubers that have no clue on how to properly take care of paint.
I've watched Joe's YT channel for years, more recently I get the impression his videos are more a sales pitch rather than an unbiased opinion. Besides, he's an "influencer" that just bought a G80 for his YT channel so he'd want it to be good. Not saying it's a bad car but his video seems a bit over the top! |

He's not hiding it either, he always says he's a fanboy of the brand. While he is no journalist, he pushes the cars more than the average influencer just reading spec sheets and usually I find his feedback on driving dynamics more interesting.
That being said, i think the feedback, not all positives were interesting and rather objective. Yeah he loves the michelin performance road tires as much as everyone else ... i mean it's hard to argue with that if you've run contis, bridgestones or pirellis before ... This guy lives in the UK were the crap roads are some kind of wet 80-90% of the time, hard to beat PS4S on these conditions. |
