Alarm going off

Wondering if this happened to anyone? when I opened the trunk without unlocking the car but with key fob in my pocket, the car alarm went off. When I did the remote view on BMW app , the alarm went off....

Nope. I've had no such issues & do that regularly. Perhaps you inadvertently hit the alarm button on your fob?

I've had the same issue many times. It even happens when I have the key in my pocket and touch the door handle to unlock it. I've been meaning to look into this because it's very annoying.

I thought that too and tried again and had the same thing happen with the key in my hand instead of pocket

I haven't had it with the doors itself ... only the trunk ... I'm wondering if there is some weird interference in my garage ... I haven't got a chance to try it outside of the garage to test the theory

it looks like it only does this in my garage so I'm guessing some weird interference ... will just have to remember to always unlock the doors first before opening the trunk in the garage

Finally figured this out.. FYI in case anyone else had this issue.. it turns out it was my v1 savy in the obd port causing the issue … I had to turn off obd alarm via bimmercode and this fixed it.. no more alarm when opening the trunk without unlocking the car

Ok so I have the V1 savvy plugged in too and have had a lot of annoying alarms. So what do I need to do?

You have to code the obd alarm off. You can use bimmercode app to do it. Need to buy an obd Bluetooth adapter (I got the one recommended by bimmercode) and pay for bimmercode. Process is easy with the app. The alarm was so annoying , remote functions also caused it to kick off too, im so glad to finally have figured it out

This is the setting to turn off:

OBD alarm
The alarm is triggered when the vehicle is locked and communication via the OBD port is detected. Please note that this function requires the car to be equipped with an alarm system.

Values:

Active
Not active
Requirements:

"Roof Function Center" FZD__35 control unit

I sent my 550 to dealer for exorcism… the alarm went off three times while parked in one day. The horn honking alarm would shut down with keyfob… but the screeching siren continues untill I drive it 1/4 mile! Anyone had an unresponsive alarm demon… only thing worse than alarm is the courtesy vehicle is an I3. 😂
