Hey everyone.

I would like to set up a day in March for forum members to come drive and review my new M4. I’ve been told my car will be at the port in January but will be held until launch day.

Please chime in with thoughts on a date and on how you think we can best accomplish this. I’m open to anything. Palm Coast is only 35 minutes away from Daytona International Speedway - it’d be awesome if we could set something up there.

Generous offer but bad idea imo. If the worst should happen & someone bins it. Test drives are what dealers are for not private owners.

I agree. It would not be a good day if you give a test drive to someone who has a license, but you have no way to know that it was revoked. It sounds like a good reason for an insurance company to refuse coverage. Even if driver has a good license, you would need to read the fine to know if a test drive was covered.

This would be a good offer even if we were to ride passenger. You get all the dynamics of being in the car just minus the brake feel and steering input. It's better than what most dealers will offer for a while, especially since they may not even be getting cars that aren't spoken for already.

Hey everyone, update the car is in transit. Dealer told me they are not holding it until launch day and BMW Corp. has not told them to hold it. They said I should have it by end of February. We will see. As far as test drive I will be in the car it would be driven in normal driving conditions and a chance for everyone to see it in person who is a member. It is not just for anyone to show up wanting a joyride. Thanks for everyones concerns.
