I've wondered the same thing. I called the Track Days people last week to ask about if I should have received a discount code for a future car purchase (No, was the answer). While I was on the phone I asked if they knew what the color of the M8 they had on display at track days was (pretty sure it was laguna seca) and if they knew when/where these new M cars are moving around the country. I recognize this wasn't exactly the correct person to ask about it, but she was who I had on the phone. She couldn't have been more clueless about every question I had or if there was even someone to refer me to to get the answer.

IMO, BMW should admit they made a mistake and change the car for MY21. Over the last few months, I tried very hard for the car to grow on me but couldn't. A fix is in dire need

OP how'd you get access to this? Was it a track day event? They had these cars at the Anaheim ultimate drive event too a couple months ago.

The M4 is passable (like a C with a passing score of C-) due to all its aggressive upgrades, but I must say the normal 4-series is such a tragedy. The front, the buy eyed headlights, the soft body lines, the lack of a Hofmeister kink, etc. What a terrible looking car.

I know growing up our parents told us it's what's on the inside that counts but they were wrong, man those G8X's are ugly, I don't care how "dynamic" they are.

More GT4 sounds please!

Also, is the M4 GT4 going to replace M6 in GT3 or the GTLM M8's? Definitely need this car in the more competitive segments

Of you sign up for a M Track Day they sometimes have promotional events happening. The last one I went to last year I got to test drive the just released M850i convertible. They will have cars on display and they had a known motorcycle racer do some flybys at the thermal track as well. $500 for the half day M Track Day. It's geared for those who have yet to track or experience high performance driving.

Sign up here:

https://mtrackdays.bmwusa.com/

I still have a free voucher for M School so I'm waiting to see if the new G8X will be the track cars next year to really see if these pig nosed whales are up to snuff. M School is a step up from M Track Day.

G8x horrid, the worst thing you can do is include the gorgeous F82 in the same thread with pictures.

I'm liking the rear and rear-quarter shots, especially in IoM, but the front...not yet, not...yet.

So many haters in here. At this point hating on G8X grill is like talking shit about the S55 exhaust note. Tired already of hearing it. I love G8X, and when I grow tired of my F82 will put myself in one.

Im into the new M3 and M4 but ive gotta agree with you on the 4 series. Looks like they ran out of funding and just put a huge flat grille piece over the front lol I can totally understand the M3/M4 criticism but the big grille is much more incorporated into the design when compared to the 4 series.

G80 M3 looks good in this vivid shade of green. The only constant is change. Thanks for sharing!

Want to see the M3 in SPY, the green is a little too blue-ish for me

Nothing else to say, buy what you want and enjoy life. I made up my mind in keeping my f82 the day I saw leaked pics of the hideous g8x, but that's my personal taste. I like classic designs and I'm all for change but they went too far hence the criticism with their fan base. However, I don't think bmw cares and their targeted fan base might have changed. I can see a lot of young beta males loving these.

Neither. GT4, GT3, and GTE/GTLM are all different racing classes.
  • The G8X M4-GT3 will be replacing the aging M6-GT3
  • The F92 M8-GTE will likely continue in the GTE/GTLM classes
  • The F82 M4-GT4 will likely continue in the GT4 class and potentially be replaced by a G87 M2-GT4
