Dead front looks better than M440i at this stage.

It also appears that the grilles will have different shapes between M3 and M4, as I have anticipated.

In before “the new M3 won’t get the big grille” comments.

To be honest, I still hate the front... absolutely hate it. I can’t see this changing either, but my biggest shock is how the M4 doesn’t look that aggressive. The M3 looks better, and actually suits the grille a bit more.

I don't see it. I am nearly certain you are mistaken, but let's see what the consensus is.

Actually, these pictures are the last piece of evidence necessary to put that speculation to bed. Time for everyone to get on board with the facts.

Also, just a note, let's refrain from posting taunts directed at the former hold outs which would turn this thread into a shouting match. Thanks!

Difficult to get a actual shape of the grill, since I can see camera lens distortion slightly skewing the proportions.

It seems that the mirrors are different between the M3 (inside point is level with ground) and M4 (inside point appears to point up).

No wide rear fenders for the M4? And still no hofmeister kink :/

ETA: This is looking as lame as the E36 M3 when compared to the 328.

It'll be an incredible car, performance wise. But I don't think I'll obsess over it like precious hen M3s.

If you look at the first photo, the turn signal is integrated into one of the headlight rings, instead of being a separate thing

Having studied the M4 a little bit more, I’ve swapped back, prefer it to the M3.

Starting to think BMW thinks if they 'leak' us weekly 'spy shots' it will somehow make the design more acceptable . . . no impact on my gag reflex after a year, or so now.

New wheels look good. Will definitely be a PITA to clean but would be worth it especially if they sell gunmetal colored versions

And so it begins. For all it's worth, I will refocus on vehicle performance and handling during a future test drive. The front aesthetics are here to stay.

Well based on the almost unanimous dislike of this look (myself included) BMW better go back to the drawing board on this one. I have an M340i now and more than likely would go to the M3 next but not if it looks like this. Yikes!

It has wider arches. The transition is just very smooth over the whole lengh of the Quarterpanel, thus being way less dramatic than the M3.

Also yes 'll say it. I like it. Come to me G80.

Nope nope and nope. I'll be buying out my F80 in November especially with the BMWFS $5500 discount ($6000 for 2017s, $5500 for 2018s, up to $12,000 off for some models). With an M340i xDrive in the garage already, I'll pass on this abomination of a grill in the G80.

The horizontal lines on the grille make it more cohesive to me than the G22, still far and away IMHO the worst looking M3 they've made yet. And why on earth did they integrate the turn signals into the corona rings on this and the G22? A line like on the G20 or G30 LEDs ties the front end together.
