I love the lung grills. My wife hates them. I am catching a Final Fantasy, alternate reality future vibe from them.

It looks a little cartoonish but it's growing on me as the more I see it the more I like it.

Much more curvature than some of the angles of the earlier spy shots could reveal, both horizontal and vertical. I think there is potential here.

I see what you mean, there’s some almost e92 like lines either side of the grille when it curves up from the lower mouth. Resembling the normal M airdam.

Horizontal grille slats? The sky is definitely falling now.

Looks like it could be the real deal. It appears to be slightly different from the earlier gray leaked shot in that the outside corners of the top and bottom are aligned (or nearly so) vertically. But that could just be the perspective playing tricks.

It occurs to me, I believe this will be the first time an M vehicle (or any variant of a Series vehicle for that matter) will feature a completely unique grill shape. Can anyone recall that happening before?

Not expected:

Expected G80 M3 / G82 M4 colors: https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1650662

But that could change. I think its probably just Dravit Gray in bright light though.

Much prefer that they blacked out the diagonal struts in the side openings.

Notice the M4 badge on the grille. Looks like this must be pretty much final for them to be putting on trim/badges?

Great find.

I am still interested in seeing the outer corners as I believe there is some black lips to tie in with the rear bumper design and side sills.

I like it... it definitely looks more 3-dimensional than the original leak. Although the horizontal slats are blasphemy to some, I don't mind it... and I like that they look to be permanently open, instead of active like the M440i.

Praying the elongated kidney is an attribute of the coupe only and not the sedan. I want this car and willing to get the sedan if its a normal looking. Too bad it may be a fantastic car but with that snout I may have to pass.

Very interesting. I suppose it will be a very striking car, distinct.
Like all BMW I think they look better in person, they are hard to photograph, except the E28 and E36. The rest do not come very well in photos. Will reserve judgement till the real deal, however it may have some serious potential.

Ugh. So bummed about the new look. Why couldn't they just put the M8 grills on the new 4's. Would have been great.

Praying the new M3 and more importantly M2 don't end up with some variant of this grill. If so I'll ride or die the current F chassis cars till the G are done.

Praying but yeah not hopeful. Perhaps someone will come out with an aftermarket smaller front bumper/kidney? I'd pay for that.

Certainly less busy than the M440i, and it seems it might not have that puckered lip thing going on. I might be able to get on board with this, adding the front splitter will make more sense here than the M440i and help with the aggression you are looking for.

The connected grille's ability to hide the front camera is nice, maybe they're back to separating it to try to appease some of those haters. If they're offsetting the radar sensor, you would think they could offset the camera without horribly distorting the image as well, it really bothers me when they start drilling unnecessary holes in the car for something like a camera.

FFS... I figured the large grille was coming but the angular look is just cheesy. Horizontal slats are probably the only way to go.... Too big for vertical slats and the lower tier cars have the diamond shaped grilles.

I don't know, just don't know man

EDIT: actually I do, it's the changing market overseas
