Silver Carbon Fiber Wrap

I am looking to do a silver carbon fiber wrap on my wood interior. I have a black on black car with wood interior.

The red or blue start button will be part of this update.

Who makes the best wrap ?

Other than clips 51418224768 & 07149158194 ate there other clips I should buy ?

3m and Vvivid are my go to brands for vinyl, but Avery and Oracle are pretty good too. The main thing is just to stay away from the cheap Chinese stuff on eBay. You can view many videos on YouTube of the horrors of using that stuff.

You should be ok with those clips...and DO plan on breaking at least one along the way. Good luck. This is a nice DIY project.

I ordered 15 sq ft of Vivid silver carbon fiber. They had the best reviews on Amazon.

I've found that 3M (and maybe vivid too, don't remember) don't have that high gloss finish, and makes it look less authentic.

While the Chinese stuff is definitely harder to work with, my 4D (or 5D, don't remember) has held up phenomenally well after 3+ years, and still has people asking me where I got real CF from!
Just takes more time and effort to install, but good results are available!

It is perhaps true that not all Chinese wraps will hold up as well, so keep that in mind also.

Either way, as long as you're happy, nothing else matters anyway.

Good luck! Pics when done please, curious how the silver CF will look.

Here you go. I think it really turned out well for my first time doing this.

I ordered a blue start button from extreme powerhouse. They don't charge for shipping. I chose blue because I have blue painted calipers.

The silver CF looks pretty interesting! Good contrast against the black!

Not sure how I feel about the mismatched pattern on the ashtray, was that on purpose?

I never realized the pattern was going the opposite way on the ash tray. Now that I see it, it doesn't bug me. However, of all the pieces I did, that one turned out to be the one with the least perfection. I might just re-Wrap it this coming weekend. I have some left over.

15 square feet (3x5) will do the job & allow for some screwups. However, with the long piece in the center of the dash, I wish I had a 4 x 5 piece. Long ways with the center dash piece of trim, the roll of wrap was not long enough.

I will say that the silver carbon fiber does contrast the black trim nicely. The cabin does brighten right up.

I got the idea from the 335IS trim

Once I get the blue button, I'll send another pick. I get it Friday.

The blue is a nice contrast. Prefer it to the red start button many people are doing (unless they already have red stitching/accents on the interior).

Looks good!
