Can you use euro-plate ( front only ) in CA ?
Will it be ok if I order a euro-plate with my given number from DMV, put it in the front only, while the regular back plate unchanged ? I 've seen some people don't even have any plate in the front anyway.

Legally? No. But no ones gonna stop you if you want to do it anyways.
Having a euro plate in the front draws even more attention then having no front plates at all. Its quite common for people to not have a front plate here (although they are still cracking down on it). So in the sea of cars with no front plate and cars with front plates, you will be the lonesome guy standing out with your euro plate. You are just asking to get pulled over. |

I ran euro plates in the front and rear for about 6 months and had no issue whatsoever. But like others have said, you will be drawing more attention to yourself than not having a front plate.

Perhaps Cops in NorCal are more relaxed ...Not here in SoCal. Another reason for an uptight one from Culver City or Santa Monica to pull you over and give you a hard time. Then they will notice the dark tint, noisy muffler, dirty ash tray, you name it ...

When I picked up my car from ED, it already had front euro plates. Which I would have preferred no front plate.
I had my CA lic plates match my ED plates, which is just cool for me or anyone who looks closely. But, it is CA law to have CA issue front plates....red light cameras... It is just that if you don't give the police a reason or two, then they will generally leave you alone. So far, I'm lucky, or else it is just a fix it ticket.
