That's what i currently have as well, VRSF careless downpipe and 335i Exhaust, but I want something a little louder with a little more burbles. Resonator delete? Secondary cat delete?

You can open up the muffler and internally weld all the little holes inside and it will sound much louder.

I've never heard of that.. Any muffler shop will do this? How much does it normally cost? Any videos of this?

Downpipe + 335i/435i muffler which is internally modded (Essential replacing perforated pipes with straight pipe and insulation removed, i believe)

Sticking with stock exhaust and catless downpipes is a great option as it pretty much has no drone.. Nice deeper sound and budget friendly.

You can spice up the rear with some nice tips and no one will eve know the exhaust is stock..

With catless downpipe you can go with Active Autowerke for an aggressive tone or REMUS Axle back for a deep sound

I have Eisenmann Race non-resonated from the downpipe back. Has a great burpple I feel not too loud (but that is subjective). I have no drone in my car.

Howdy, kinda new here but I have a question for you.
With the N26 engine having 2 cats, I see you've eliminated one with the VRSF catless downpipe. Are you running on the stock midpipe that contains the second cat? Also, do you have required emissions testing where you live? If so, has this setup presented any problems?

The reason I ask is that I am thinking of getting the AWE resonated midpipe and Dinan rear exhaust section. I'll still have the catted downpipe in place, but the second cat will be eliminated by the AWE midpipe. I'm pretty sure this setup won't throw a CEL (since there are no sensors after the second cat), but I'm wondering if the car will pass Virginia emissions testing with just the one cat.

Thoughts? Much appreciated.

I am running the stock mid pipe with stock cat and res. I think I do gave emissions, but I'll deal with it when the time comes. I still have my stock downpipe if I need it to pass.

Both sensors are in the downpipe so as long as you still have that you should be able to pass as no CEL will appear.

Okay, thanks for the info. The problem in Virginia is that they do more than just check for CELs, they also take measurements at the tailpipe(s). That's why I really want to find out if anyone has passed Virginia emissions on just the stock cat in the dp.

+1 on this. I just did a straight pipe with catless down pipe. I'm on day 2 and the drone is driving me crazy. Gonna switch back to stock muffler.

My setup for the n20 is catless downpipe, no resonator and a magnaflow muffler. Lots of burble no drone. With black tips the cost was somewhere around 200 bucks for the muffler tips and muffler shop to weld it all up. The budget for the catless dp is pretty much whatever you want, could be 120 or much higher but it'll sound the same.

I'll take a video if you're interested. Not sure how using the stock muffler will sound but I like the setup I have but I'll probably move to a true dual or quad tip just for aesthetics.

Sadly, CA is nuts about emissions (CARB), so I don't think there is any chance of removal of either of the cats. The best I think I will be able to do is a resonator delete and then either a stock 335 muffler and tips or a custom solution. Going to my local shop to price out the custom side this weekend as I am so over the stock N26 exhaust system. Any recommendations or guidance is welcome.
