Installing OEM M3 mirror caps

Has anybody installed OEM M3 mirror caps? Do I only need items #3 and #4?

I remember reading somewhere that the mirror is shaped differently, possibilly require replacing the entire mirror assembly

I used the ///M "style" replacement CF covers...I'm pretty happy with them!
