Gloss CF Interior Trim
A friend of mine was able to source the super glossy CF that looks close to real CF... I was hoping this stuff would resurface again because I really dislike the other CF wraps out there right now.
Just some pics of it installed... 98% of the time it looks real, in 2% of cases, when the sun hits it at a certain angle only, it loses it's depth. This is much harder to work with because it's thicker than typical 3M wrap, and is often why many shops (all that I spoke with) won't install it (takes longer, costs them more). I'm happy with the results so far! Now the question is will it last, or will the thickness cause it to peel prematurely? If anyone else has this same wrap, would love to hear how it's holding up!

I wrapped my interior trim in likely the same product. Much thicker than the 3m stuff but looks great. I've had it on for about a year and it has show some signs of peeling back. However it could just be my work versus your professional job. Looks great though.

Mind sharing some pics of problem areas so I can keep a keen eye on my own? Also just like seeing it in other people's cars too!

I've had it on my car for awhile now, seems to be holding up ok but like Game said I didn't do nearly as good of a job + I didn't use any adhesion promotor. It definitely still looks about 1,000,000x better than any of the other CF vinyls I've seen, but I'm going to have to re-wrap soon.
RE: longevity; I did have my diffuser professionally wrapped with it and it's holding up great even with being exposed to the elements.

Any specific product? I'd like to do more areas, some harder to wrap, so maybe this adhesion promoter will be super helpful! Awesome that it's holding up on your diffuser, didn't expect that! Wanted to put some on my front finisher rods, but was told it won't work due to non-smooth surface. |

3M 94 Primer - IMO the little "paint pen" sticks they sell are too short-lived for the price, I bought a jar of it (looks like a mini-paint can) and use a q-tip to apply it; works great but use it sparingly.

If anyone local is interested, send me a PM and I'll put you in touch with my friend.
He can sell you the material, or install it for you.

Shops tend to charge $300 and up. My friend did it for much less since he's an independent. Not sure about material alone.

I bought 5x10 of the 5d or whatever its called cf wrap, its not really distinguishable side by side with real cf. cost me 115 shipped. The regular guys who do e90 interior said it will be more than enough to do the roof and the whole interior but still dont take my word for it

As you can see the corners near the top of the AC vents have risen a bit. |

I have the 3M CF. I like the look of the OP's more.
Even the 3M CF wrap was harder to work with compared to 3M Gloss Black. The 3M CF wrap did not like to be heated up too much so I only heated it a little when necessary and didn't stretch it if I didn't have to. Where as the 3M Gloss black you could heat or stretch for days without a worry. If you can get your buddy to get us a price on 5x5 sheet that would be cool. You wont need more then 5x5 for the interior assuming you know what you're doing. Last edited by Jeff@TopGearSolutions; 02-10-2016 at 01:48 PM.. |

Jeff, your 3M looks pretty good actually! Sure it's not super gloss, but has more of a shine to it than several other non-gloss CF wraps I've seen!

Also, you can contact my friend directly for questions about the wrap (whether you want to buy just wrap, or have him do it for you - Toronto area).
Tell him Ali with the black E90 sent you. He's a really good guy. Rashad 647-835-2443 (text him)

All said and done, no regrets. You'll notice in the picture I have 3M Black Gloss on the dash still. I ran out of CF but I think I'll leave it as is since it's a little different. I originally had 3M Black Gloss throughout but I got a bad batch of material and frankly it just scratches way too easily. Since nobody should be touching the dash area, I think it's fine to stay plus I hate taking apart the center vent piece. |

My biggest "issue" now is the piece for the cupholders. Mine is starting to wear, and I think putting CF there too will be too much (plus may not stick if the piece doesn't come out to wrap it). I was thinking brushed black would look good, but would then want to incorporate the brushed black elsewhere too for some form of continuity... ahh, it never ends! Jeff, while I have your attention, I may reach out to you at some point about some lights (interior LED, H7 HID)... just don't forget how much this thread has improved your life when it's time to get me a quote (just kidding... maybe)

FYI - Rashad is traveling for a month or so, may not reply to your texts.
Try him again after that.
