M3-Style Side Skirts / Rocker Panels for E92 328i LCI

Considering getting a set of M3-style side skirts (e.g. http://www.**********s.com/product.a...-sideskirts-er) for my 2012 E92 328i.

I've seen a lot of posts on here from people that have done it, or who are considering it, but - as with the diffusers - quality seems to be good sometimes, and bad other times.

I know there's M-dbargains, RW, ECS, and I assume some of them may use the same suppliers - but which vendor do you guys feel is the most reliable as far as fitment?

People say they all come from the same place.

I'm not sure if JGmods is still around, but I chose his because he had a great reputation here and service was excellent.

I would just go with whoever has the best service at this point. No idea who that would be at the moment though. I'm sure you can't go wrong. Just don't buy prepainted as they might not match exactly.

Thanks! I was almost guessing as much...

Were you happy with the fitment you got, and/or did you have to modify anything on the part (or the car)?

I had my body shop do the install so I'm clueless as far as what it took to make work or if fitment needed fine tuning.

It did come with mounting screws though. And I'm pretty happy with the overall fitment. Maybe a few minor things like the skirt is deeper than the door in some areas (door is a tad bit wider so if I run my finger down the door it will move inward a bit to the skirt so I can feel the lower edge of the door) but the OEM skirt could have been that way as well I never paid any attention.

I would give it a 95/100. The little fitment issues are negligible and do not bother me.

I got mine from Mod-Bargains fitment is 8.5/10 but overall im very pleased with it. Looks great, only fitment issues are inside the door it doesn't line up properly but you cant see it as the door is closed.

Thanks for the feedback both of you! Holding off on those panels for now until I have that rear diffuser delivered...

I got mine from JGMods because everyone on here said it was the best fitment. I'd say it wasn't perfect but I was able to put them on without modifying anything. Here's my vid:

Vielen Dank, B. Sounds like you were overall happy with the mod, too.

Assuming a prep-and-paint job for these skirts would run about $200-300, would you say it was worth it for the money?

Absolutely, it totally makes the car look wider and the way the light catches the flare of the skirt makes it quite noticeable but not too obvious that it is a modification. The car will look the same but much more aggressive if that makes any sense.

I have a nice comparison here

My skirts from Umnitza should be here in a week or two. Installing myself so I'll update this post after the install.
