Largest tires on stock 19x8 and 19x8.5 rims
I just got my 2015 435i convertible with M sport. F33 type. Rear wheel drive.
I want to change my tires for non run flats and hopefully fill the wheel well a bit better I can’t lower the car. It’s a lease and I don’t want to put the warranty in question. The Stock tire sizes and diameters in inches are 225/40/19 = 26.087 – Front 255/35/19 = 26.028 - Rear Options are Fronts.. 225/45/19 = 26.972 235/40/19 = 26.402 Rears 255/40/19 = 27.031 265/35/19 = 26.303 Any suggestions? What is the biggest diameter people have run on these cars without rubbing? Thanks Jeff PS - If the speedo is a bit off that's ok... I'm leasing and it will be in my favor! |

Here's a nice +1 option. I love the look and the performance upgrade. Obviously, this isn't the "largest" fitment on stock. Last edited by G30 B58; 12-28-2014 at 01:11 PM.. |

I have 265/35/19s on all four corners with 19x8.5 wheels all around. No rubbing of any kind and have tested with 4 people in car and hit a dip in the road. Cant remember the offset of my wheels, 33 I think.

According to some websites the largest width tire that should go on a 8.5" wheel is 255. By fitting a 265, does the tire sidewall "bulge" over the wheel lip? Looking at my OEM Bridgestone 255, the sidewalls are already bulging instead of in line with the wheel edge. Do you have a pic?

Yes correct, 255 on 8.5 but years ago, like 20, i used to be in the tire business and always stretched the limit with larger tires than recommended. I always liked the look of larger tires going over for two reasons. Looked more aggressive to me, like a track car plus more tire to protect the wheel from curb rash, wife driving
I'll take a pic when I get back but it also depends on the tire. The 255s I had before were very flat sidewalls so no bulging at all. I have Hankook now and they are more rounded so slightly over edge. I went up because I wanted a little wider/fatter tire and slightly taller for better absorbing of road imperfections. Quote:

I'll say it again, i love my +1 tires. The look is very "track-like" or "slightly meaty" and if a wheel should fall on it's face the slightly bulging tire should help protect it.

Here is a pic with my 265s, on 8.5 rims as you can see not overly bulging over the rim more flush with slight over edge. I took several but need to wait till daylight and try again. ,

Great - thanks everyone for the input. They look great!
It seems only one manufacturer makes that size though.. unless I missed something. The Pilot super sports in 235/40/19 and 265/35/19 |
