NCS Expert coding problem please help

I have coded before, but it has been over a year. I often use inpa and never have connection problems.

However, when I opened NCS expert to do some coding it says my "vin is faulty" and will not bring up my vin.

I did notice that when I open inpa, in the past ediabas would also open at the bottom of the screen, but it isn't opening anymore.

I am debating reloading all of ediabas and inpa but I remember it being a PITA.

Does it say ignition is active in INPA?

I have the same issue with faulty VIN. I can still read and clear faults, but I can't use NCS Expert due to the faulty VIN error.

Yes, everything in inpa reads correctly, ignition on battery on. I can read all modules in inpa. But I get faulty vin/ediabas error.

JB4 installed? Make sure your latency and comm port is set to 1.

It's the issue with daten files in E89 folder in NCSEXPER/DATEN. Check the files.

That sounds very possible. I did update my daten files or change my daten files at one point after my original coding. Where can I find the best daten files?

I have to add an "N" to end of my VIN for it to accept. Try that.

Turned out I had INPA open at the same time and it didn't like that. I closed INPA and opened only NCS and it worked for me.

Oh great! So simple it got over looked. That's because both programs are fighting over com port and INI's.
